이 논문의 연구 목적은 『중용(中庸)』의 치중화(致中和) 사상을 통해 본 동래학춤 비약태(飛躍態)의 생명미를 분석하는 것이다. 동래학춤에 나타난 비약태의 생명미는 학(鶴)이 생명을 유지하고 이어나가는 것을 상징적으로 표현하고 있다. 동래학춤의 춤사위에 있어서 생명미의 핵심은 비약(飛躍)하고 날아오르는 모습이다. 그 비약은 화육(化育)이라고 표현하며, 천지자연의 조화에서 비롯되는 생성 발육의 모습이다. 생명의 연속성과 조화로움이 담긴 동래학춤의 비약태는 약동하는 생명의 아름다움을 표현하는 것으로써 『중용(中庸)』에서 강조하는 만물일체의 생명의식이라고 할 수 있다. 동래학춤의 비약태를 통하여 생명의 아름다움은 ‘활갯짓뜀사위(날음새)’와 ‘좌우활개사위’라는 춤사위로 드러나는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 동래학춤에 내재된 비약태의 생명미는 『중용(中庸)』에서의 ‘천지위언(天地位焉)’과 ‘만물육언(萬物育焉)’이라는 생명의식과 다르지 않다는 것을 알 수 있다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the beauty of life in Biyaktae (飛躍態) of Dong‐Rae Crane Dance seen through “Zhi‐Zhonghe (致中和)” thought of “Zhongyong (中庸)“. The beauty of life in Biyaktae of Dong‐Rae Crane Dance is a symbolic representation of the crane's (鶴) sustaining life. The core of beauty of life in the dance movement of Dong‐Rae Crane Dance is a scene of leaping (飛躍) and flying. The leap is expressed as Hwayuk (化育), and it is a form of development that originates from the harmony between ‘heaven and earth’ and nature. Biyaktae of Dong‐Rae Crane Dance, which contains the continuity and harmony of life, expresses the beauty of stirring life, which is the life awareness of all things emphasized in “Zhongyong”. Through Biyaktae of the Dong‐Rae Crane Dance, it is found that the beauty of life is revealed in the dance movements of 'Hwalgatjit‐jumping movement (Naleumsae)' and 'right‐left hwalgae movement'. Therefore, it can be seen that Biyaktae's beauty of life immanent in Dong‐Rae Crane Dance is not different from the life awareness of 'Cheonji‐wieon (天地位焉)' and 'Manmul‐yukeon (萬物育焉)' in “Zhongyong”.
