본 연구는 충남대학교에서 이공계 학생들을 대상으로 운영 중인 <공학논문작성과 발표>의 문제점과 개선 방안을 실제 수업 사례를 토대로 살펴보았다. 이를 위하여 <공학논문작성과 발표>의 표준 강의안과 실제 수업에서 적용한 강의안을 비교해 보았다. 또한, 실제 수업에서 적용한 강의안을 토대로 15주차 강의를 진행하였을 경우 수업에 참여한 이공계 학생들의 요구가 무엇이었으며, 충족 과정에서 발생한 문제점이 무엇이었는지를 파악할 수 있었다. 그 결과, <공학논문작성과 발표>를 공학교육인증을 받기 위한 과정으로 운영하기 위해서는 크게 세 가지 문제점을 해결할 필요가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 그러나 이와 같은 문제점은 교수자 한 사람의 개인적인 노력으로만은 해결될 수 없으며, 제도적인 도움이 함께 이루어져야만 가능할 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 현재 발견된 문제점에 대한 개선 방안을 모색할 수 있는 계기를 이루어냈다는 점에서 유의미한 시도라고 할 수 있다.
This study examined real class cases for problems and improvement alternatives of <Writing and Presenting Engineering Papers>, the class for science and engineering students in the Chungnam National University. For doing this, this study compared a standard lesson plan of <Writing and Presenting Engineering Papers> with a lesson plan applied to real classes. Also, this study could figure out what needs of students participating in classes are and what problems are when their needs are satisfied in the case of taking 15 week-lectures through the lesson plan applied to real classes. As a result, this study could realize necessities to solve three big problems for operating <Writing and Presenting Engineering Papers> as a process to get the engineering education accreditation. However, these problems could not be resolved by only personal efforts of a professor. For doing this, institutional supports are also necessary. Nevertheless, this study could be a significant and positive try in terms of gaining an opportunity seeking for improvement alternatives on problems found currently.
