이 논문은 소포클레스의 비극에 나타난 오이디푸스의 부모 정체성을 실존주의적 관점에서 분석하고 그것의 교육적 의미를 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여『오이디푸스 왕』에서 오이디푸스의 부모와 그 자신이 처한 부조리 상황과 대화를 선행연구들과 대조・분석하는 가운데 프로이트의 해석과 달리 오이디푸스가 자기의 실존적 정체성을 찾기 위해 고군분투하는 존재라는 점을 제시하였다. 또한『콜로노스의 오이디푸스』에서는 오이디푸스와 자녀의 관계, 그리고 그들의 대화 내용을 부버(M. Buber)의 관점에서 분석함으로써 오이디푸스가 부모로서 자신의 정체성을 어떻게 형성해 가고 있는가를 밝히고자 하였다. 연구자들은 이 두 비극의 분석을 통해 부모의 정체성란 부모-자녀 간의 생물학적 관계 맺음으로 형성되는 것이 아니라 부모가 자녀를 하나의 인격적 주체로 바라볼 수 있는 실존적 자각이 이루어질 때 비로소 형성되어 간다는 점을 보여주고자 하였다. 따라서 이 글은 오늘날 학교와 가정의 중재자로서 부모가 자기 자신의 정체성과 역할을 어떻게 인식해야 하는지, 또한 부모다움을 회복하기 위한 노력은 어떠해야 하는지 깊이 성찰할 수 있는 계기를 마련한다는 데 의의가 있을 것이다.
This paper is aimed at analyzing Oedipus' parent identity in "Oedipus king" and " Oedipus of colonus" among the tragedies of Sophocles and revealing its educational meanings from an existential perspective. To this end, I would like to discover that Oedipus' parents and his own irrational situation and conversation in 'King Oedipus' are struggling to find their existential identity, contrary to Freud's claim, by contrasting and analyzing them with preceding studies. In "Oedipus of Colonos," Oedipus tries to analyze Oedipus' relationship with his children and their conversations from the perspective of the buzzer to analyze the pattern of self-awareness of their parents' identity. The two tragedies seems that parents' identity can not be achieved through parental education, but the existential establishment of parents when they can self-reflect their children so that they can see them as subjects. Therefore, this paper is expected to provide an opportunity for parents to reflect on their parent's identity as a mediator between school and family. In particular, in terms of parental education, it is important to set up an educational and philosophical reflection on the underlying parents' identity, along with scientific positivism.
