After the seventh curriculum was implemented, high school history textbooks began to cover the family system of Korea and Joseon and the status of women under separate themes. In general, women's status during the Goryeo Dynasty was high, but it was said that women's status decreased due to the spread of Sunglihak(性理學: Ju-Hee's teachings, a kind of study of Confucianism) after the late Joseon Dynasty. The reason for the claim that the status of women in the Goryeo Dynasty was high was the Goryeo Dynasty wedding customs was monogamy in principle, secondly, a daughter was listed on the family register in order of age, and son and daughter inherited the same property. However, since the 17th century, the spread of Sunglihak(性理學) philosophy has led to decrease the treatment of women. For exemple, the eldest son inherited most of his parents' property and the son of a remarried woman, who cannot take an administrative test. From ancient times to the Joseon Dynasty, however, there was no time in our history when it was not a principle of monogamy. in the case of property inheritance, even though even the middle 18th century of the Joseon Dynasty shows a uniform division, it should be reconsidered to describe the entire members of Joseon as if they had inherited their wealth to their eldest sons from the 17th century. It also does not seem appropriate to allow a woman to perceive the reason for her lower status as if it were only in the spread of Sunglihak(性理學). In the history textbooks to be used in the future, rather than stating that women's status was high at some time and low at some time, the focus should be on clarifying the unfair treatment historically imposed on women and allowing students to develop critical views.
