이 연구에서는 근대 시기의 시 작품에서 중요하게 등장하는 기차라는 당대의 신문물을 중심으로 근대의 모습을 살피고, 수용 주체인 현대의 학습자가 이러한 근대를 상상적으로 읽어 낼 수 있는 방법을 논의하였다. 1930년대 시에 나타난 기차라는 근대 문물을 통해 본 상상력은 대상 자체에 대한 회화적 상상력, 주체가 드러나는 감각적 상상력, 주체의 성찰을 드러내는 비평적 상상력으로 나누어 살필 수 있었다. 이를 통해 이 연구에서는 동시대 텍스트를 통해 회화적 상상력 발현하기, 다성적 주체를 통해 감각적 상상력 재구하기, 해석 텍스트를 통해 비평적 상상력 확장하기 등의 근대에 대한 상상적 읽기 방법을 제안하였다. 근대의 주요한 표상 중 하나인 기차가 드러나는 시 작품을 당대의 관련 텍스트들과 함께 읽는 과정에서 독자가 구축하는 상호텍스트는 텍스트의 의미를 귀납적으로 강화해 주는 역할을 할 수 있다. 또한, 기차가 출현하던 시기의 다른 관련 작품들을 읽는 과정에서 독자는 다양한 주체의 모습들을 발견해 낼 수 있다. 나아가 작품과 관련한 해석 텍스트를 찾아 텍스트의 관점을 자신의 해석과 비교해 가는 과정에서 서로 다른 해석의 가능성에 대한 인식을 통해 독자는 자신의 관점에 대한 이해를 도모하고 확장해 갈 수 있을 것이다.
This study examines the modern appearance centering on the train of the time, which is an important figure in modern poetry works, and discussed how the contemporary learners can imagine this modern times. The imagination seen through the object of the train could be divided into the pictorial imagination of the empirical subject, the sensory imagination of the skeptical subject, and the critical imagination of the reflective subject. Through this, this study proposed a method of modern reading through imagination, such as reconstructing context through contemporary text, discovering subjects through related literary text, and expanding perspective through interpretive text. In the process of reading a poetry that reveals the train, one of the major symbols of modern times, with relevant texts of the time, the intertext that the reader constructs can play an inductive role in reinforcing the meaning of the text. In addition, in reading other related works of the time when the train appeared, the reader can discover a variety of subjects. Furthermore, in the process of finding the interpretive texts related to the work and comparing the viewpoints of the texts with their own interpretations, readers can seek and expand their understanding of their perspectives by recognizing the possibility of different interpretations.
