Intersection of conversion logic and Abe Kobo critique －Criticism of The Woman in the Dunes and the postwar “politics and literature” debate－

아베 고보의 대표작 『모래의 여자』에 대한 비평언설에서 보여지는 일정한 경향이 소설 간행 직전에 일어난 작가의 일본공산당 제명 사건과 관련되어 있다는 것은 주지의 사실이다. 그러나 본고에서는 이러한 경향의 배경을 당시의 상황에 한정시키지 않고 전후 ‘정치와 문학’ 논쟁의 시기로까지 거슬러 올라가 『모래의 여자』를 둘러싼 비평언설이 전후 ‘정치와 문학’ 논쟁에서 도출된 전향의 문학적 정당성이라는 논리와 연관되어 있으며 그 이후의 아베 고보 작품에 대한 평가에도 영향을 끼쳤다는 사실을 밝히고자 하였다.

It is well known that a certain trend seen in the critical commentary on Abe Kobo's representative work, The Woman in the Dunes is related to the event that he was expelled from the Communist Party just before its publication. However, in this paper, the background of such trends is not limited to the situation at that time, but goes back to the time of the postwar “politics and literature” debate. I tried to clarify that the criticism of The Woman in the Dunes is related to the logic of literary justification of the conversion found in the process of the postwar “politics and literature” debate, and has an influence on the later evaluation of Abe Kobo's works.

安部公房の代表作『砂の女』をめぐる批評言説に見られる一定の傾向がその刊行の直前に起った作家の日本共産党除名という出来事と関連していることは周知の通りである。しかし、本稿では、そうした傾向の背景を当時の状況に限定せず戦後「政治と文学」論争の時期にまで遡り、『砂の女』をめぐる批評言説が戦後「政治と文学」論争の過程において見出された転向の文学的正当性という論理と関連しており、それ以後の安部公房作品に対する評価にも影響を与えたことを明らかにしようとした。
