In this article, psychological and social factors that predict the job satisfaction of police working for victim protection affairs (PVPA) are suggested. 131 PVPAs answered the questionnaire, and 105 answers were analyzed. The results showed that PVPAs experienced more happiness than hardships from conducting their duties. However, when PVPAs felts hardships, general job satisfaction of the PVPAs was negatively affected by the hardships from dissatisfactions, complaints, or agonies of crime victims, but hardships from bureaucratic processes or lack of coworkers’ cooperations did not significantly predict decreased general job satisfaction. Those with high subjective well-being level showed greater satisfaction toward their jobs than those with a lower level of subjective well-being. Among Big five personality traits, extraversion, openness to experience, and conscientiousness significantly predicted job satisfaction, but neuroticism and agreeableness did not. Extraversion and openness to experience had a buffering effect from the drop of PVPA’s job satisfaction as a function of work duration. That is, those with high, but not low, levels of extraversion or openness to experience did not suffer from the decrease in job satisfaction even with long work years. The meanings and implications of the study were discussed.
