사회복지학전공 학생들은 실습을 통해 학교에서 배운 이론을 현장에 적용시켜보며 사회복지사로서 자신의 가능성을 탐색하게 되므로 실습은 사회복지사로 성장하는데 기본적인 토대를 제공한다. 실천교육을 위한 대표적인 기초과목인 사회복지실천론은 실습 전에 필수적으로 이수해야 하는 선수과목으로서 성공적인 실습을 위해 매우 중요한 교과목이라 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 사회복지실천론과 현장실습 교과목의 연계를 위해 실천론수업에서 무엇을, 어떻게 가르쳐야 할 것인가에 대한 질문으로 시작되었다. 이에 대한답을 구하기 위해 서울지역 6개 종합사회복지관에서 실습을 완료한 사회복지학전공 학생 10명에 대해 6명, 4명으로 구분하여 각 1회씩 총 2차례의 초점집단인터뷰를 실시하고, thematic analysis 방법을 활용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과, 현장실습에서사회복지실천론의 적용, 실습을 통해 실천론 내용의 이해가 깊어짐, 사회복지실천론 수업과 현장의 간극, 사회복지실천론 교과목의 개선과 변화의 방향(사례를 통한 수업진행과 피드백, 현장의 흐름을 반영, 자기인식 및 자아성찰 추가, 가치갈등에 대한 해결연습등)의 4가지 주제가 도출되었다. 주요 분석결과를 바탕으로 이론과 실천의 통합을 위해사회복지실천론 수업에서 보완되어야 할 점, 실천론과 현장실습 교과목의 연계를 위한논의와 제언, 연구의 한계점 등을 제시하였다.
The social work field practicum provides the foundation for social work students to become practitioners. Social work practice class is an important prerequisite for a successful social work practicum. This study investigates the ideal teaching content and approach to support students in making connections between practice class and their practicum. Two focus group interviews were conducted with 10 social work students who finished their field practicum at one of six community welfare centers in Seoul. Thematic analysis was used, resulting in four themes: application of contents learned from social work practice class to the field practicum; deep understanding of social work practice throughout the practicum, gaps between social work practice class and field practicum, and recommendation for the improvement of social work practice class. Based on the results, recommendations for improving social work practice class and making connections between practice class and the field practicum are suggested, and study limitations are discussed.
