‘문화대혁명’이 끝나고 중국이 새로운 시기를 맞이함에 따라 홍콩, 타이완의 유행음악들이 각종 경로로 중국 본토에 유입되었고 본토 음악의 산업화, 다원화, 상품화에 절대적인 영향을 미치면서 발전하게 된다. 본 문에서의 ‘강타이펑(港台风)’음악은 개혁개방 이후, 신시기 초에 홍콩과 타이완의 대중음악이 카세트테이프, 드라마와 영화 등 다양한 대중매체를 통하여 본토에 유입되었고 본토음악의 발전에 절대적인 영향을 미치면서 일으킨 음악열풍을 일컫는다. 1976년, 중국의 역사는 새로운 장을 열었다. 개혁개방이 시작되면서부터 홍콩, 타이완의 대중음악은 다시 본토의 음악계를 장악하였다. 하여 이 시기 중화권 대중음악의 판도는 홍콩과 타이완에서 만들어졌다고 볼 수 있다. 홍콩과 타이완의 대중음악은 중국 대중가요계 형성의 핵심적 구성이다. 이는 세계와 연결되어 있을 뿐만 아니라 본토 대중음악계에도 거대한 영향을 미쳤다. 본 문에서는 개혁개방 이후, 중국 신시기 대중음악의 발전과정에서 그 시대 사람들의 사상과 감정에 깊은 영향을 미친 홍콩과 타이완의 대중음악의 유입과정과 음악적 특징을 살펴보고, 본토에서 유행했던 ‘강타이펑’ 음악열풍의 문화현상, 상호 영향을 살펴보는데 의미를 두고자 한다.
