본 연구는 루돌프 슈타이너 및 발도르프 교육의 유아 예술 교육에 대한 연구로 철학적 배경을 통해 발도르프 교육의 유아 예술 교육의 목적, 내용, 방법, 환경의 이론적 토대를 통해 유아교육현장에서 발현될 유아 예술 교육의 현장적용 가능성을 탐색하고 실제 적용 할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 제시하여 앞으로의 연구방향과 현대 유아교육에 주는 시사점을 찾고자하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 그 결과 루돌프 슈타이너의 교육사상은 그의 어린 시절 자연환경 속에서 자연의 아름다움과 신비감 행복한 경험에 바탕이 있음을 알 수 있었고, 인간의 본질과 구성요소 및 발달단계로서의 인간, 기질론으로 본 인간으로 유아교육의 기초를 인지학으로 탐색하고자하였다. 또한 발도르프 교육의 유아 예술 교육은 모든 교과의 내용에 예술적인 요소가 포함되어 있고 교육이 인간의 존재를 일깨워 줄 수 있는 예술의 경지에 이루도록 구성되었으며 리듬을 중요시하고 모든 교과과정이 예술교육으로 이루어짐을 알 수 있었다. 향후 루돌프 슈타이너의 교육사상에 대한 올바른 이해를 바탕으로 한 영성교육, 예술교육 등 다양한 프로그램 개발 및 현장적용에 대한 후속연구가 계속되길 기대한다.
This study explores the Rudolf Steiner’s Waldorf education in terms of its philosophical basis, educational contents, and the method of approach. Focusing on his ideas of art education for young children, this study seeks ways to apply Waldorf education to the field of early childhood education. Findings of the literature review showed that first, Rudolf Steiner's educational philosophy was influenced by the natural beauty and mystic happiness experienced in the natural environment during his childhood. He regarded human beings as an integrated entity, emphasizing the growth of human beings at the stage of development, and investigated early childhood education from an Anthroposophical approach. Secondly, all contents of the curriculum of early childhood art education in his school are composed of artistic elements, especially valuing rhythm among them. He emphasized special type of education that helps students learn the meaning of human existence through art. Further researches needs to be implemented on his ideas of spiritual education and art education and the ways to develop programs that can practically apply his unique ideas to field of early childhood education.
