본 연구는 국내 온라인 서점과 그림책 전문 웹 사이트에서 공통적으로 추천하는 만 0-2세 영아 그림책의 목록을 추출하고 그 특징을 분석함으로써 영아에게 적합한 그림책에 대한 정보를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 온라인 서점과 전문가들이 추천하는 그림책 전문 웹 사이트의 만 0세-2세 영아를 위한 추천 그림책 90권을 분석대상으로 하였다. 그림책의 분석범주는 기본적인 서지정보, 장르, 그림 표현양식, 관련 표준보육과정 주제로 하였다. 연구결과 국내 온라인 서점과 그림책 전문 웹 사이트에서 추천하는 그림책은 총 1,826권이었고 그 중에서 2회 이상 중복 추천된 그림책은 90권으로 추천도서가 일치하는 경우는 거의 없었다. 그림책 90권의 서지사항을 살펴보았을 때 최숙희와 하야시 아키코의 그림책이 가장 많았다. 영아 그림책의 평균 쪽수는 일반 그림책보다 적은 26쪽이었고, 사이즈는 일반적인 그림책보다 작으면서 정사각형에 가까운 모양이 많았다. 장르는 논픽션 그림책 중에서 놀이책이 가장 많았다. 표현양식은 주관적 표현 중 만화적 표현 그림책이 가장 많았다. 관련 표준보육과정 주제에 따라 분류하면 나, 가족, 놀이와 관련된 그림책이 많았다. 이러한 결과는 증가하는 영아보육 현장에서 영아의 발달적 요구에 맞게 활용할 수 있는 적합한 그림책의 기준과 특징에 대한 기초자료를 제공하는데 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study is to provide information of picture books suitable for infants by investigating lists and the characteristics of them commonly recommended by domestic online bookstores and picture books specialist websites. The subjects of analysis were 90 picture books selected from the list of steady seller books for 0-2 infants. They were categorized by basic bibliographic data, genres, expression styles, themes of standard child-care curriculum. The results of data analysis were as follows. First, total number of picture books for infants recommended from online bookstores and web–sites were 1,826. Only 90 of them were recommended suitable for infants from both sides. Second, analyzing bibliography of 90 picture books showed that Choi Sook-hee and Akiko Hayashi written were the most in numbers. The average number of pages for infant picture books was 26 pages. The size was smaller than a typical picturebook, and shape of them was close to a square. In terms of genres, nonfiction picture books, especially play books were the most popular. Cartoonistic expression style was most shown in the books. The themes related to ‘I’, ‘Family’ and ‘Play’ were most found in the books. This study provides basic data on the criteria and characteristics of appropriate picture books for the development of infant children.
