본고는 활용형의 문법적 기능과 심리적 실재성의 관계와 그것의 어휘부학적 함의를 밝히고자 하였다. 그러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 수행한 통계적 검정 결과에서 확인한 어휘부학적 함의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 종결형의 문법 기능상의 완결성은 용언 활용형의 심리적 실재성을 뒷받침하는 가장 중요한 요인이다. 둘째, 전성형의 이중성은 관형사형의 높은 출현빈도로 인해 발생한 것이다. 셋째, 의문형의 특이점은 복잡한 형태론적 경쟁 관계에 따른 반응시간 지연의 결과이다. 넷째, 대등형의 이중성은 높은 내적 투명도와 결합된 어미의 높은 출현빈도로 인한 간섭 현상의 결과이다. 본고는 복합도가 동일한 단일형 활용형을 대상으로 문법 기능상의 완결성이 어휘부 등재의 조건인인지적 현저성을 결정하는 1차적 변수이며, 활용형의 출현빈도와 결합 어미의 출현빈도가 부차적 변수가 될 수 있음을 밝혔다.
This article aims at investigating the relationship between the grammatical functions and psychological realities of the conjugated forms of Korean verbs. Toward this purpose, a series of statistical verification processes were performed and several findings from the results of those processes are recapitulated as follows: First of all, ending types have grammatical functional completeness and it is a major factor relating to the psychological realities of conjugated forms. Secondly, the dualism of a transforming type of verb originated from the high frequency of conjugated forms belonging to this type of verb. Thirdly, the idiosyncrasy of a question type is determined by the result of a delay in time in lexical decision caused by the morphological competition among appropriate candidates. Finally, the dualism of coordinating types occurred as the conjugated forms of each type have high transparency and the endings attached to those forms have high frequency as well.
