본 연구는 메타분석을 통해 예술중심 융합인재교육(A-STEAM) 프로그램이 창의성 향상에 미치는 효과성을 파악하기 위해 수행되었다. 분석 대상 논문은 2009년부터 2016년 11월까지 7년간 국내에서 발표 된 논문 중 종속변인이 창의성이고, 독립변인이 예술중심 융합인재교육인 24편이며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 예술중심 융합인재교육(A-STEAM) 프로그램이 창의성에 미치는 효과크기 g는 0.936으로 높은 수치를 나타냈다. 둘째, 창의성 하위유형에 따른 효과크기는 위험감수(g=1.533), 개방성(g=1.377), 융통성(g=1.293), 창의적 사고(g=1.232), 창의적 문제해결력(g=1.178)과 같은 효과크기를 나타내었으며, 이는 Cohen(1988)이 제시한 0.8이상의 높은 수준의 효과크기이다. 독창성(g=0.931), 유창성(g=0.899), 정교성(g=0.839)의 영역에서도 높은 효과크기를 나타냈다. 셋째, 예술중심 융합인재교육(A-STEAM) 프로그램이 창의성에 미치는 효과크기의 차이를 알아보기 위하여 학교급, 프로그램 유형, 수업차시 및 출판연도를 조절변인으로 하여 분석하였다. 그 결과 학교급별로는 고등학교급이 가장 높은 효과크기(g=1.680)를 나타냈지만 중학교급의 경우 0.434의 효과크기를 나타내 보통 수준에 이르는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 또한 예술교과만을 중점적으로 진행한 단일 융합인재교육 프로그램이 0.909로 가장 높은 효과크기를 나타냈다. 수업차시가 많을수록 효과크기가 증가하는 경향을 보였으나 출판연도에 따라서는 유의미하지 않았다.
This study was carried out through meta-analysis to understand the effectiveness of the A-STEAM education program to enhance creativity. Amongst the papers for analysis, there are 24 papers which shows that the dependent variation is creativity, A-STEAM is an independent variation within those that were published in Korea from 2009 to November 2016. The following are the results. First, the effect size of the A-STEAM education program on creativity was high (g=0.936). Second, the effect size from the sub-constructs of creativity; this was taken as a measure of risk (g=1.533), openness(g=1.377), flexibility(g=1.293), creative thinking(g=1.232), creative problem solving(g=1.178), Third, we explored school grades, types of programs, classes, and control variants for publishing years to see the difference in the size of the effects of the A-STEAM education program on creativity. As a result, a high school class was shown to be the highest effective size among the classes(g=1.680), but a middle school class had an effect size of 0.434, reaching the normal level. In addition, A-STEAM education program focused on the single arts subject, showed the highest effect size at 0.909. The number of classes tended to increase in their effect size. However, the publishing year was not significant.
