이 글에서는 초중학교 학부모의 학교 참여가 학부모의 학교만족도, 학교신뢰도, 공동체 의식 등의 변화에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 탐색해 보았다. 기존의 연구는 학부모의 학교 참여 변수를 주로 학생의 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 변수로 간주해 왔지만, 이 연구에서는 학부모의 학교 참여가 학교만족도, 학교신뢰도, 공동체 의식 등에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 점에 주목하였다. 분석은 독립변인에 대하여 위계적선형모형(HLM)을 적용하였다. 먼저 무조건부 모형을 통해 각 변수들의 학교 수준 분산을 파악한 결과 학교만족도의 8.74%, 학교신뢰도의 6.78%, 공동체 의식의 4.97%가 학교 간 차이에 의한 것임을 확인하였다. 최종모형에 대한 분석 결과에 따르면, 학부모의 학교 참여는 학부모의 학교만족도, 학교신뢰도, 공동체 의식 등을 높이는 데 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 학부모 수준의 개인배경 변수 중에서는 어머니가 직업이 있는 경우와 학생의 학교적응도가 높을수록 종속변수와 긍정적인 관련이 있었다. 더 자세히 보면 학부모의 학교 참여 영역에 따라 종속변수에 미치는 효과가 다소 다르다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 학부모의 기획 및 평가활동 참여는 학교만족도나 학교신뢰도를 높였으며, 학교교육활동 참여 및 학교안전보호 활동은 공동체 의식을 높이는 효과가 있었다. 학부모 교육 참여는 어떤 경우에도 효과를 보였다. 한편 비공식 모임 참여 변수는 공동체 의식에 긍정적 효과를 보이나, 학교만족도나 학교신뢰도에는 그렇지 않은 것으로 나타났다.
In the study, variables that affect the effectiveness of primary and secondary school parents' participation were divided into parents' and school levels. In previous studies, parents' participation in school has only been used as a variable that affects students' academic performance, but in this study, parents' participation in school itself is expected to affect their school satisfaction, school reliability, and community consciousness. The analysis was attempted with the Hierarchical Linear Model (HLM) for each independent variable and the distribution of the school level was first determined through the unconditional model. The results showed 8.74% of school satisfaction, 6.78% of school confidence and 4.97% of community consciousness were caused by differences between schools. The analysis results on the final model showed that parents' participation in school affects parents' school satisfaction, school reliability and community consciousness. Among the individual background variables level, it was analyzed that whether the mother has a job, and the child’s school adjustment level were effective. The school-based participation variables of parents had different effects on dependent variables. Planning and evaluation activities affected school satisfaction or school reliability, and participation in school teaching and learning process and school safety protection activities affected community consciousness. Parents' participation in education has been effective in any case. In terms of school level variables, the teachers’ efforts to open communication and the principals’leadership were effective.
