사회적 흐름이 단위학교 교육자치 강화라는 모습으로 나타난다. 단위학교 교육자치 강화가 성공하기 위해서는 학교민주주의가 제대로 정착되어야 한 다. 이에 본 연구에서는 Apple (2008)이 제안한 세 가지 틀(민주적인 구조와 과정들, 민주적인 교육과정, 민주적인 교육 체제)을 바탕으로 학교민주주의 에 관한 플랫폼을 구축하고자 한다. 첫째, 민주적인 구조와 과정들 차원에 서는 단위학교 교육자치기구의 구성과 법제화를 제시하였고, 교장공모제의 활성화를 제시하였다. 둘째, 민주적인 교육과정 차원에서는 민주시민교육의 필요성과 학교현장에서 적용 가능성을 제시하였다. 셋째, 민주적인 교육 체제 차원에서는 학생들을 특정한 트랙으로 구분하여 교육시켜서는 안 된다 는 것과 미래지향적인 학교시설의 질적 향상의 방향을 제시하였다.
The social trend is moving toward the transfer of authority and strengthening of autonomy. School democracy must be settled properly in order for the strengthening of the unit school education autonomy to succeed. The study aims to build a platform for school democracy based on the three frameworks proposed by Apple (2008) (democratic structures and processes, democratic curriculums, and democratic education systems). First, in terms of democratic structure and process, the composition and legislation of the unit school education autonomous organization were presented and the activation of the principal public offering system was suggested. Second, in terms of democratic curriculum, the necessity of democratic civic education and the possibility of application at the school site were presented. Third, in terms of democratic educational system, students should not be divided into specific tracks and suggested directions for improving the quality of future-oriented school facilities.
