本稿は、最近韓国における日本語学習者が減少している中で、日本語教育の現状と課題を把握する目的で、韓国の大学の日本関連学科を対象に調査を行った。大学での日本語教育は人文学の危機と学齢人口の減少により、構造改革に拍車をかけている状況で、学科の存廃の危機におかれており、日本関連学科の数が大々的に減少している傾向にある。地域的には光州全南において減少が目立つ一方、首都圏と済州圏では目立った変化はない。しかし、最近の政府の政策により、大学の存立自体が就職へと変化し、就職に焦点を当て、学科名を改名する場合も多かった。今後の時代の流れとパラダイムの変化に合わせ、日本関連学科の変化が急を要する時期ではなかろうか。
In the midst of the recent decline of Japanese learners in Korea, the institute surveyed Japanese-related departments of Korean universities for the purpose of understanding the current status and challenges of Japanese education. Japanese language education in universities is on the verge of survival of the department at a time when structural reform is accelerating due to the crisis in humanities and the decline in the number of school-age population, and the number of related departments in Japan is on a large scale. In the region, the decline is noticeable in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province, and the Seoul metropolitan area and the Jeju provinces are seeing little change. However, there have been many cases where universities have changed their existence to employment in accordance with the government's recent policy and renamed departments in line with focus on employment. In line with the changing trends and paradigms of the future, Japan-related studies are in dire need.
본고는 최근 한국에서의 일본어학습자가 감소하고 있는 가운데, 일본어교육의 현황과 과제를 파악하기 위한 목적으로 한국의 대학의 일본관련 학과를 대상으로 조사를 하였다. 대학에서의 일본어교육은 인문학의 위기와 학령인구의 감소에 따라 구조개혁이 박차를 가하고 있는 상황에서 학과의 존폐의 위기에 처해 있는 상황이며, 일본관련학과의 수가 대대적으로 감소하고 있는 추세이다. 지역적으로는 광주전남에서 감소가 두드러지고 있으며, 수도권과 제주권은 큰 변화가 없는 실정이다. 그러나 최근 정부의 정책에 따라 대학의 존립자체가 취업으로 변화하면서 취업에 포커스를 맞춰 학과명을 개명하는 경우도 다수 있었다. 향후 시대의 흐름과 패러다임의 변화에 발맞춰 일본관련학과의 변화가 절실한 시점이다.
