Choson Chongryon is a bulletin of Choson Chongryon which has been published since December 1956. It is a Japanese edition whose objective is to convey accurate information about Korea to the Japanese and to promote goodwill between Japan and Korea. The title changed to “Chosen Jiho” in January 1961, and the content also changed given the changing situation of North Korea and South Korea. Choson Sinbo（a bulletin of Chongron）, although irregularly, serializes novels. In contrast, Choson Jiho publishes many poems. Examining Heo Namgi’s poems, the themes differ from poems in Choson Chongryon and those in Choson Jiho. While his poems in Choson Chongryon are concerned with Korean residents in Japan and those returning to North Korea, those in Choson Jiho are about his home country, based on his experience in Choson Chongryon. Lee Geumok’s poems changed from descriptions of children going to Chousengakkou to emphasizing maternity while encouraging gender equality. Two original novels are published in Choson Chongryon, and both are not written from the perspective of Choson Chongryon. Instead, they describe Korean residents in Japan. In general, Choson Jiho has less original works and more articles about the Japanese than Choson Sinbo. As noted in the first issue, it is because Choson Sinbo emphasizes promoting goodwill between Japan and Korea, and also because Korean creative writing was encouraged in Choson Sinbo.
『朝鮮総連』は、多くの日本人に朝鮮のことを正しく伝えるために、また日本と親善関係を深めるために、1956年12月から刊行された日本語版の総連の機関紙である。1961年1月には『朝鮮時報』に改題し、北朝鮮と韓国の情勢変化により掲載される記事の内容も次第に変わっていく。 『朝鮮新報』（朝鮮語版）には、小説が不定期的ではあるものの、連載されている。これとは対照的に『朝鮮時報』には詩が多く掲載されている。その中で許南麒の詩は、『朝鮮総連』に掲載されたものは、主に在日朝鮮人や北朝鮮への帰国に関するものであるが、『朝鮮時報』に書かれた詩は、彼の祖国、総連の立場として対外的な活動を基にしたものである。また李錦玉の詩のように、朝鮮学校に通っている子供の様子から、「男女平等」の奨励により、女性の母性が強調されていくものに変わっていくことが分かる。また創作小説は、二編が掲載されているが、いずれも登場人物は総連の立場からというより在日朝鮮人そのものを描いたとも言えよう。 『朝鮮時報』には、全体的に『朝鮮新報』より創作作品が少なく、また日本人による記事も『朝鮮新報』より多く掲載されている。これは、創刊号に書かれたように、日本との親善関係を深めることをより重視していたからであり、また、小説などの創作は、『朝鮮新報』に書くように勧められていたとも言えよう。
