Although Women-Tribute(貢女) of Ming dynasty(明朝) fewer than Yuan dynasty(元朝), there are many important characters such as Kwon Hyun Bi(權賢妃) and Han Gye Ran(韓桂蘭), their relatives have played a role as important bridges in the Joseon Dynasty(朝鮮) and the Ming Dynasty. More importantly, the request of the Women-Tribute of Emperor Hong Wu(洪武帝) and Emperor Yong Le(永樂帝) is a sort of “political marriage”. In other words, it was used as a policy of coercion and appeasement in the conversion of the new country of Hong Wu era to the establishment of the relationship between Goryeo(高麗) and Jeosun. It is interesting to note that Emperor Yong Le, who had led the heyday of Ming dynasty, was proposing political marriage as a solicitatio. This study looked at why and how the Women-Tribute were used as countermeasures in the complex history of Korean-Chinese relations. It is interesting to note that Emperor Yong Le, who had led the heyday of Ming Dynasty, was proposing marriage as a solicitation, in the same way that there was no one-time political marriage. This study has examined how the women have been used as a countermeasures in the complicated and intricate Korean - Chinese relations that had been repeated at the time.
