이 연구는 가야대학교의 정규 과목의 글쓰기, 비교과 교육의 글쓰기 교육의 현황을 살피고 더 나은 전망을 제시하는데 있다. 정규 과목 관련해서는 사고와 표현이라는 과목이 있다. 사고와 표현은 2010학년도 1학기에 정규교과목으로 개설되었다. 현재는 교양 선택과목으로 주당 2시간 2학점, 평균 약 130∼240여명의 학생들이 3개 분반에서 6개 분반으로 운영되고 있다. 자체 개발된 교재는 15주 동안 이론과 실습을 통해서 학생들의 말하기와 글쓰기를 강화하는 데 효과적으로 구성되어 있다. 비정규 교과 관련에는 글쓰기 기초와 심화, 1:1 첨삭지도, 리포트공모전 등을 통해서 학생들의 말하기와 글쓰기 역량을 키우는 데 힘쓰고 있다. 연구 결과 교양 선택에서 필수, 한 분반당 수강정원의 감축, 전문성을 갖춘 강사진 확보 그리고 정규교과 과정으로서 글쓰기 심화과목의 개설이 필요한 것으로 분석되었다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the actual status of writing in a regular subject or irregular programs in Kaya University, and to suggest better perspectives. The subject of thinking and writing as a regular one has been open from the spring semester in 2010. This subject at present is an elective one of two-hours a week, two credits and is managed in three to six classes with participants of one-hundred thirty to two-hundred forty students. Textbook made by the University is composed of fifteen-week lectures to strengthen students’ ability of speaking and writing by theory and practice. For the irregular programs, the basic and advanced courses in writing, one-to-one coaching, report exhibition were open to increase students’ ability for speaking and writing. As results of this study, it was analyzed that the subject of thinking and writing as a required one, the decrease of attending numbers in a class, increase of lecturers with specialty, and opening an advanced writing subject should be necessary.
