한국경제는 수출지향경제로서 대외교역에 크게 의존하고 있다. 이로 인해 한국경제의 생존 및 발전을 위해 대외교역 증대와 다변화는 항상 중요한 과제이다. 따라서 수출/교역의 지역적 다변화란 측면에서 하나의 대안으로 떠오르고 있는 중남미지역, 그 중에서도 브라질과 한국의 교역관계에 이번 논문은 초점을 맞추고 있다. 1980년대서부터 국내에서 언급이 되기 시작한 중남미지역과 브라질은 2000년대로 접어들면서 교역규모도 많이 늘어나고 있으며, 2010년대에 한국의 대브라질 수출은 한국 총수출에서 1-2%를 차지하고 있다. 이번 연구는 한국의 관점에서 대브라질 교역을 분석하는데, 특히 ‘한국의 대브라질 수출 변천과정’에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 그동안 한국의 대브라질 수출이 어떠했는지를 먼저 이해하고자, 장기 시계열 자료를 바탕으로 단기적 수출의 변화, 그에 따른 일정기간의 수출추세를 찾고, 이를 통해 시대 구분을 한 다음, 이 시대구분의 각 구간이 어떤 의미를 가지고 있는지 살펴보고자 한다. 본 논문은 서론에 이어 제 2장에서 한국의 총수출과 대브라질 수출이라는 전체적 흐름, 좀 더 세부적으로 한국 내에서 수출다변화 개념의 시대적 인식변화와 통계자료를 기반으로 한 한국의 대브라질 수출의 변천과정을 논의한다. 제 3장에서는 대브라질 수출의 변화과정을 회귀분석을 통해 시대구분을 한 다음, 제 4장에서 회귀분석에서 나온 시대구분의 각 구간이 갖는 의미가 무엇인지를 논의하면서 결론짓는다.
It is natural that the Korean economy is oriented to depend heavily on foreign trade and exports as it has grown through international trade beginning in the 1960s. The regional diversification of exports is always an important task for the growth and expansion of the Korean economy because this diversification stabilizes the economy and assists in overcoming economic crisis. This paper focuses on the Latin American region, especially Brazil, which is emerging as an alternative for regional diversification of exports. These days, Korea's exports to Brazil account for 1 to 2 percent of Korea's total exports. Thus, this study analyses a time series of data regarding Korean exports to Brazil. The purpose of this study is restricted to examining the changes in trend/tendency of export from Korea to Brazil, differentiating and dividing all periods during 1965 to 2017 into sub-periods. These results will assist in detailing the larger picture of international trade between Korea and Brazil. Following the introduction, Chapter 2 discusses the notion of regional export diversification and the changes of that notion over time that were documented in Korean research articles and subsequently the overall flow of Korea’s exports to the World and Brazil from 1965 to 2017. Chapter 3 reviews the regression analysis conducted with the data regarding Korea's exports to Brazil, differentiating exports and division of sub-periods. Finally we conclude with a short explanation of the division of the sub-periods and the highlights of each period.
