본 연구는 대학이 지역사회와 상생을 통해 문화생태계의 지속과 지역 경제 활성화를 어떻게 지속적으로 이끌 것인가에 대한 연구이다. 최근 한국 사회는 인구의 고령화와 저출산으로 인해 사회 전반적으로 위기를 맞고 있다. 특히 입학정원의 축소로 향후 많은 대학이 문을 닫을 것이라는 보도가 연일 나오고 있다. 교육부는 앞으로 3년 안에 33개의 대학이 문을 닫는다고 전망하고 있다. 이로 인해 앞으로 대학이 독창성을 유지하지 않는다면 생존의 갈림길에 놓일 수밖에 없는 상황이다. 정보의 대량 유통 시대인 소셜미디어 시대의 생존은 융합을 통한 독창성에 있다. 대학 또한 융합의 코드를 도입하고, 독창성을 창출하지 않는다면 생존할 수 없는 시대가 되었다. 대학의 융합은 학제 간의 융합은 물론이며, 지역사회와의 융합을 통해 선순환의 구조를 만들어야 한다. 이를 위해 대학과 지역사회 연계에 대한 국·내외 사례를 분석하고, 대학과 지역사회의 협력체 수립 현황과 이를 지속적으로 발전하게 할 요소를 살펴본다. 해외 사례를 기반으로 서울시와 성북구라는 특수한 상황을 면밀히 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 향후 대학과 지역사회 간의 연계를 통한 지속성 문제를 통시적으로 분석했다.
This study is about how universities will continue to lead the cultural ecosystem and revitalize the local economy through co-existence with the region. Recently, Korean society is facing a crisis in general due to its aging population and low birth rate. In particular, reports say that many universities will close down in the future due to the reduction of enrollment. The Education Ministry also predicts that 33 universities will close in the next three years. As a result, universities will have no choice but to put themselves at a crossroads if they do not maintain their creativity. In order to survive in the social age, a mass era of information distribution, the universities have to introduce a type of code of convergence, as is the creativeness. University convergence is of course interdisciplinary convergence, and together with the regional convergence the universities should create a good virtuous circle. To this, the government is going to look at the status of university and community links, establish cooperation for establishing cultural identity for universities and regions, and activate cultural contents through university and regional links. Seongbuk-gu will remain in a regional approach, but we hope that this will provide an opportunity to discuss the integration of the communities with universities in the future.
