최근 유아의 미디어 이용 증가와 실내･외 놀이 양상의 변화는 유아의 행동특성에 대한 관심을 증가시키고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 유아 미디어 이용 정도, 실내․외 놀이가 문제행동 및 또래놀이 상호작용에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 1,154명의 패널아동(한국아동패널 7차 자료)을 대상으로 평균, 표준편차, Pearson의 적률상관관계, 단계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 유아들은 실외놀이 시간 보다 실내놀이 시간이 길었고, 전반적인 문제행동점수는 예상보다 낮았다. 또래놀이 상호작용의 긍정적인 유형은 다른 유형의 또래놀이 상호작용 보다 평균점수가 높았다. 둘째, 미디어이용 정도는 외현적 문제행동과 정적 상관이 있었고, 실외놀이는 긍정적 또래놀이 상호작용유형과 실내놀이는 놀이 방해와 각각 부적 상관이 있었다. 유아 미디어이용 정도는 외현적 문제행동, 실외놀이는 긍정적 상호작용, 실내놀이는 놀이방해를 예측하는 변인이었다. 본 결과를 바탕으로 유아미디어이용역량프로그램 개발과 부모의 올바른 미디어 이용 태도 함양, 균형적인 실내･외 놀이를 위한 부모와 교사(기관)의 적절한 개입의 필요성을 논의하였다.
Recently, the increase of children’s media use and changes indoor and outdoor play patterns have increased the interest of children’s behavioral characteristics. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the degree of early childhood media use, indoor and outdoor play on problem behaviors and interactive peer play. The data of 1,154 children taken from 7thPanel Study of Korean Children (PSKC) were analyzed by using mean, standard variation, Pearson’s correlation and stepwise regression. As a result, panel children spent time longer indoor play than outdoor play. And the overall problematic behavior’s means was lower than we expected. But the mean of positive type of interactive peer play was higher than other types of interactive peer play. Second, the degree of media use of young children was positively correlated with external problematic behavior. Also positive type of interactive peer play and outdoor play and play disturbance and indoor play had negative correlation individually. The degree of media use of young children was a predictor of the external problematic behavior, and also outdoor play predicted positive type of interactive peer play. Also, indoor play was a predictor in play disturbance. Based on the results, it was discussed the development of the educational program for young children to improve their abilities for using media and the necessity of the development of desirable habits of parents’ using media. And also, the ways were discussed to make a balance between indoor and outdoor play of the day by the proper intervention of parents and teachers.
