한국 현대 시문학사에서 허수경은 1990년대, 2000년대를 대표하는 서정 시인으로 평가받아오고 있다. 그녀는 현실적 맥락에서 시대의 아픔을 담아내는데, 시대적 패러다임의 변화가 드러내는 파편화된 현실을 온전히 내면화하고 있다. 허수경의 시에 알레고리의 함의를 가진 여러 양상들이 드러나고 있다는 것은 주목할 부분이다. 허수경은 사유 속에 자리하는 추상적 관념을 구체화하여 시대정신을 표출하고 세계에 대한 인식을 드러낸다. 본고는 허수경 시에서 작품 바깥의 현실을 시에 도입하는 알레고리의 표상들에 주목하고자 하였다. 본 논문은 허수경 시에서 알레고리와 관련하여 중요한 양상을 논의하였다. 허수경의 시에 있어 물화된 현실에 대한 풍자적 알레고리는 중요하다. 물신주의가 만연한 자본주의의 현실을 풍자하고 환기하는 알레고리는 현실의 삶을 효과적으로 형상화 한다. 또한 동물의 세계를 대상화 하는 것은 현실세계의 심연을 품어냄으로써 숨겨진 이면에 대한 회복과 귀환에 시선이 놓이게 한다. 허수경의 시에서 알레고리는 또 한 편으로는 여성을 호명하는 것으로 이루어지기도 한다. 시대의 노곤한 삶이 처절하게 스며들어 있는 여성은 남성중심의 은폐된 권력 구조를 알레고리화 하기도 하고 물질문명이 우선시되는 현실 속에서 자신의 삶의 주체로 자리할 수 없는 여성들의 모습을 핍진하게 그려내는 알레고리로서 기능하기도 한다. 허수경의 시에서 알레고리는 세계를 바라보는 인식의 틀로 작용하기도 한다. 알레고리적 시선으로 현실의 무수한 관계들을 시적으로 탐색해 나가는 것이다. 허수경은 흔적으로 남은 기억들을 죽음이나 폐허의 이미지로 지속적으로 탐색해 나간다. 알레고리는 세계의 파편들을 불안정한 상태로 조립하여 현재를 조명하는 것인데, 허수경의 시는 죽음과 폐허의 이미지로 현실의 진면목을 보여주고 있는 것이다.
Heo Su-gyung has been regarded as a lyric poet representing the 1990s and 2000s in Korean modern poetry. She portrays the pain of the times in a realistic context, completely internalizing the fragmented reality revealed by the changes of the paradigm of the times. It is noteworthy that many aspects of the poetry of Heo Su-gyung have been revealed with the implication of allegory. Heo Su-gyung expresses the consciousness of the world and expresses the spirit of the times by embodying the abstract idea that lies in the thought. This paper focuses on the representations of allegory introducing the reality outside the works in the poems of Heo Su-gyung. This paper is a satirical allegory about the realization of important aspects related to allegory in Heo Su-gyung's poetry. The allegory, which satirizes and revitalizes the reality of capitalism, which is pervasive, effectively shapes the life of reality. In addition, objectifying the animal world brings the real world's abyss to the eyes of the recovery and return to the hidden side. In the poems of Heo Su-gyung, allegory is also made by naming women on the other hand. A woman who has a passion for the lonely life of the times allegorizes the male-centered concealed power structure. It also serves as an allegory that draws out the status of women who can not be positioned as the subject of their lives in the reality where material civilization is given priority. In the poems of Heo Su-gyung, allegory is also a framework of recognition for the world. The allegorical gaze poetically explores the myriad relationships of reality. Heo Su-gyung continues to explore the remnant memories with images of death or ruins. Allegory is to illuminate the present by assembling fragments of the world in an unstable state. And Heo Su-gyung's poetry shows the truth of reality through the image of death and ruins.
