국내외에서 디지털인문학은 하나의 큰 흐름을 형성하고 있다. 미국과 프랑스 등해외에서는 인프라 구축 등 디지털인문학 활성화를 위한 디지털인문학 지원 정책을시행하고 있다. 국내에서는 디지털인문학의 다양한 활동에 비해 정책은 다소 미흡하다. 디지털인문학에 대한 지원 사업은 있지만, 해외에서는 디지털인문학을 별도의정책 영역으로 설정되어 있는 것과 달리 국내 디지털인문학 정책은 인문학 진흥정책의 일환으로 설정되어 있다. 인문학 진흥 정책이 인문학의 위기라는 사회적분위기에 대한 정책적 대응이라는 점에서 디지털인문학 지원 사업도 그 맥락 하에있다고 하겠다. 즉 디지털인문학을 새로운 연구 경향으로 접근하기 보다는 인문학의사회적 효용성을 증명하는 효과적인 방법으로 인식하는 것이다. 국내 디지털인문학이 한층 더 진화하기 위해서 디지털인문학에 대한 담론 확대와 함께 보다 적극적인정책 수립이 요구된다. 디지털인문학 정책의 수립을 위해서 디지털인문학의 정책적위상 제고, 디지털인문학의 매핑, 지원 사업의 다양화, 디지털인문학 인프라의 재개념화, 별도의 조직과 재원의 확보 등이 필요하다.
Digital humanities are forming a big trend. In the United States and France and overseas, the Digital Humanities Support Policy is being implemented to activate digital humanities such as building infrastructures. In Korea, the policies are somewhat inferior to the various activities of digital humanities. Although there is a project to support digital humanities, the digital humanities policy in Korea is set as a part of the humanities promotion policy. In the sense that the humanities promotion policy is a policy response to the social atmosphere that is the crisis of the humanities, the digital humanities support project is also in that context. In other words, digital humanities are recognized as an effective way of proving the social utility of humanities rather than approaching new research trends. In order for the digital humanities in Korea to evolve further, it is necessary to expand the discourse on digital humanities and establish more active policies. In order to establish the digital humanities policy, it is necessary to raise the policy status of digital humanities, to map digital humanities, to diversify support projects, to reconceptualize the digital humanities infrastructure, and to secure separate organizations and resources.
