이 연구는 결혼이주여성의 문화적응 유형과 특성의 변화를 탐색하였다. 2009년과 2015년 「전국 다문화 가족 실태조사」자료를 이용해 중국인, 베트남인, 조선족, 필리핀인과 일본인 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 잠재집단분석(LCA)을 적용하였다. 분석결과 결혼이주여성의 문화적응 유형은 신입형, 융화형, 분리형 및 고립형으로 구분되었다. 아울러 양차 연도 자료를 대비하여 결혼이주여성의 문화적응 유형과 특성에 두 가지 주된 변화를 발견했다. 첫째, 문화적응 유형의 구성비가 상당히 바뀌었다. 곧 신입형과 고립형이 각각 6.37%p와 8.57%p 증가하였으나, 융화형과 분리형은 각각 0.73%p와 14.23%p 감소했다. 이는 주로 분리형 결혼이주여성이 신입형과 고립형으로 이동하였기 때문으로 보인다. 둘째, 한국어 능력은 상승하였지만, 한국인과의 관계, 정부 지원 프로그램 참여 경험 등 상호관계 영역은 오히려 축소되었다. 이와 같은 결혼이주여성의 주변화 경향은 ① 관 주도의 주입식 교육지원정책에서 탈피, ② 정책 사각지대에 놓인 결혼이주여성의 발굴과 함께, ③ 일상생활과 연계된 지역사회 밀착형 지원정책의 필요성을 시사한다.
This study explored the changes in acculturation strategies and characteristics of married immigrant women (MIW) in Korea between 2009 and 2015. We conducted a latent class analysis (LCA) using Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean-Chinese, Filipinos, and Japanese MIW from the National Survey of Multicultural Families (NSMF). The results indicated that MIW can be classified into four groups in terms of acculturation strategies: Newcomer, Harmonization, Separation, and Isolation. We also found two major changes in the acculturation strategies and characteristics of MIW. First, the shares of each group among MIW have considerably changed. The groups of Newcomer and Isolation respectively increased by 6.37%p and 8.57%p, but those of Harmonization and Separation respectively decreased by 0.73%p and 14.23%p. The main reason for the changes seems to lie in the migration from the group of Separation to the group of Newcomer or Isolation. Second, the interactions of MIW with the Korean society including social connections with Koreans and experiences in government support program participation have been significantly reduced while their Korean proficiency has considerably improved. Such peripheralization of MIW in Korea implies a need for changes in government policies such as: (1) MIW oriented teaching instead of teaching by rote; (2) Identification of and customized support for lonely MIW in the blind side; and (3) Community-based support programs closely linked to daily life.
