본 연구는 보건계열 대학생들의 학과 선택 동기와학과만족도를 파악하기 위하여, 2016년 4월부터 6월까지 광주광역시(H 대학교)와 대전광역시 (K대학교)의보건계열 학과인 치위생학과 240명, 물리치료학과242명, 응급구조학과 233명을 대상으로 설문조사를실시하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 전공학과 지원동기는 취업률(51.5%)과 개인의 적성(26.2%)을 우선 고려하여 선택하고 있었고, 본인 스스로 결정한 학생이 대부분(75.1%)이었다. 그리고 학과만족도는 대체로 만족(3.86)하는 것으로 나타났으며, 그 중 교수에 대한 만족(4.07)이 가장 높았고, 대인관계 만족(4.00), 실습시설 만족(3.86), 전공수업 만족(3.82) 순이었다. 전공학과를 본인 스스로, 적성을 고려하여, 사전 지식을 가지고, 일찍 결정할수록 학과만족도가 높게 나타났다. 따라서 보건계열 학과 지망생들의 빠른 전공선택과 재학 만족도 향상을 위해 고등학교 저학년 때 적성을 개발 할 수 있도록 다양한 전공체험 프로그램의 제공이 중요할 것으로 판단된다.
This study was purposed to evaluate the effect of motivation for the selection and the satisfaction of major in the department health science students. The survey was performed with respect to 240 students of department of dental hygiene, 242 of physical therapy and 233 of emergency medical service in Gwangju(H university) and Daejeon(K university) cities from April 1 to June 30, 2016. Data analysis was performed with t-test, ANOVA and chi-square analysis using SPSS(win ver 21.0) program. In results of study, the motivation of selecting major department of health-related was most selected by consider of individual aptitude(26.2%), high employment rate(51.5%) and most have decided on their own(75.1%). The satisfaction of major is generally to be satisfactory(3.86). The highest was satisfaction with professor(4.07) and interpersonal satisfaction(4.00), facility satisfaction(3.86), and major classes satisfaction(3.82). The high satisfaction of health science student is related consider aptitude, have prior knowledge and early decided at lower grade. Therefore, it is important to providing various major experience programs and developing aptitudes in high school low grade to improve of satisfaction of major department of health-related university students.
