본 논문은 민족종교 문화원형의 콘텐츠 개발 가능성과 활용 과제를 검토하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해서 먼저 민족종교와 문화원형의 개념을 살펴보고, 둘째로 민족종교의 주요 종단들의 종교적·문화적 자원의 콘텐츠 작업 현황을 살펴보고, 셋째로 민족종교 문화원형의 콘텐츠 구축과 활용의 방향을 제시해보았다. 분석 결과로 다음과 같은 결론에 도달했다. 첫째로 민족종교를 근대문화의 측면에서 이해하고 그 문화원형을 활용할 수 있다는 점이다. 한국의 근대는 서세동점과 일제 강점이라는 국가적 위기 상황과 서구문명의 급속한 유입에 의해 사회적 문화적 변동을 일으켰던 시기이다. 민족종교의 문화원형에는 이러한 사회적 문화적 변동 혹은 변혁의 경험이 고스란히 담겨 있어 한국종교사에서 독특하고도 의미 깊은 층위를 구성하고 있다. 둘째로 민족종교의 수용자 대부분이 민중계층이었다는 점에서 종교사적인 의미가 있다. 근대시기의 사회문화적 격동기를 살았던 민중의 현실적·종교적 욕구가 민족종교의 문화원형에 담겨 있다. 즉 민족종교는 민족을 성화하는 상징체계뿐만이 아니라 기성의 사회적 종교적 보호막에 포섭되지 못했던 민중의 고난과 종교적 열망을 자신의 종교적 내용으로 구성함으로써 기성 종교와는 다른 종교적 체계를 띠고 있는 것이다. 셋째로, 민족종교가 보여주는 종교혼합의 독특한 현상과 근대 문화적 가치를 고려할 때, 기독교, 불교, 유교 등에 집중된 문화원형의 콘텐츠 개발이 민족종교로까지 확대되고 체계적으로 개발할 필요성이 있다.

The purpose of this article is to examine the possibility of contents development of cultural archetype and its utilization task for Korean ethnic religions(min-jok) religions in Korea. For this, first, I analyse the concept of Min-jok religion and cultural archetype, second, I examine the status of the contents development of min-jok religions, third, I try to present the direction of the utilization and contents development of cultural archetype of min-jok religions. Through the analysis, I conclude the following facts: First, we may understand the min-jok religions in terms of modern culture. Second, the min-jok religions has cultural values of showing the emotion and thinking of Korean common people because most the oppressed peoples in Korea affiliated to min-jok religions facing the disturbances of national and social affairs. Third. The contents development of cultural archetype for the public purpose is needed to expand to sphere of min-jok religions with the support in finance and technology by Korean government.
