문화의 시대에 그 나라에서 발생하여 전해 내려오는 그 나라 고유의 문화인 전통문화는 어떤 의미가 있을까? 오늘날 각 지자체 및 국가에서는 역사와 전통문화를 관광과 결합하여 새로운 성장동력으로 하려 시도되고 있다. 그리하여 본 연구에서는 ‘과연 전통문화의 관광자원화는 가능한가? 가능하다면 전통문화를 어떻게 지역에 적합 시킬 것인가?’하는 연구문제를 설정하고, 과거 의성지역에서 서당 학동들이 추석에 하고 놀았던 싸움놀이인 가마싸움을 대상으로 확인하였다. 연구결과, 다른 지자체에서 줄다리기, 차전놀이, 박시싸움 등과 같이 대동놀이를 그 자체로 또는 지역축제와 연계하여 활용하고 있었는데, 이들은 모두 겨루기형태의 놀이였다. 또한 우리 조상들은 집단의 결속을 다지고 신명을 즐기기 위하여 대동놀이형태의 민속놀이를 즐겨했는데, 이 역시 대부분 경쟁형식을 띠고 있었다. 의성 가마싸움은 청소년들이 양편으로 편을 갈라 육박전을 하고 가마를 부수는 격렬한 싸움놀이였기에 카이와의 놀이요소 중 Agon을 핵심으로 한 청소년들의 대동축제로 재현한다면 관광자원으로서의 가치가 충분하다는 것을 확인하였다. 그러기 위해서는 의성 가마싸움의 관광자원적 가치 발굴과 전승 기반 마련, 가마싸움 재현, 관광 가치 소구와 지지 기반 확보, agon형 관광자원으로서의 가치 부각, 의성 대표축제와 가마싸움 연계하는 전략적 마케팅을 전개하여 관광상품으로 발전시키는 것이 이상적이다.
What is the significance of the traditional culture of the country that originated in the country in the era of culture and that is unique to that country? As a result of the study, unification plays such as tug-of-war, game play, and Baksi fight in other municipalities were used by themselves or in connection with local festivals. In addition, our ancestors enjoyed folk play in the form of unification play in order to keep the group united and to enjoy Shin-myeong. It was a violent fighting game in which the youths split on both sides and broke down the palankeen, and it was confirmed that the reproduction of Caillois's play elements as a collective unification festival of youth with the core of Agon as a touristic resource was sufficient. In order to do this, we need to find out the tourism resource value of the fighting of the palankeen fight, establish a tradition base and organization, perform again the palankeen fighting, secure the supporting value of the tourism value, value as agon type tourism resource, It is ideal to develop into a tourism commodity.
