When I started to lecture the theory of classical novels, I asked thestudents ever having complete read any of korean classical novel. Generally only one or two out of fifty students said 'yes' to the question. It is a serious problem because it is impossible to understand and analyzethe text without complete reading. Nevertheless more serious problem isthat they delude they have understood the text even though they haven'tread the text yet. They just read some related informations to the textinstead of reading the text itself. This negative effect is brought by theeducation only for the entrance examination. This thesis is to research Heungbujeon included in the highschool'Literature' textbook and try to find out some improving plans andproblems of the textbook's unit composition. Heungbujeon has been passeddown by two systems. One is Heungbuga system transmitted mainly withChang(singing) and the other is Heungbujeon system transmitted mainlywith writing. Conflicts between Heungbo and Nolbo is remarkable inHeungbujeon system. Nolbo's Baksaseol is mainly explaining aboutphysical corrections and the ending is emphasized with didacticism in thesystem. Heungho is appeared as regressive and Nolbo's wicked aspectsare diluted in Heungbuga system. Nolbo's Baksaseol is abbreviated or eliminated and the ending is emphasized with brotherly affection in thesystem. There are 18 types 'literature' textbooks in 7th course of educationand Heungbujeon is included in 10 types. But all of them are too manyselected from Heungbuga system. Sub-items of study activities emphasizea analysis from a new point of view and a contemporary recreation. As aresult of it, it is demanded that the theme is recognized a external themeand a internal theme separately. So Heungbo is regarded as a negativecharacter and Nolbo is regarded as a positive character. In order toapproving this trial, texts from various systems should be presented. Ifnot, the text could be misunderstood and distorted. It is impossibleinserting a full text on the textbook, so select main narratives and showdiverse version of them. So the correct understanding and appreciationcould be possible through them.
