본 연구는 음악영화“원스”에 쓰인 근원음악, 극적 배경음악, 노래가사의 역할에 의하여 형성되는 의미를 분석적으로 고찰하였다. 이 영화의 근원음악은영화 속 인물들의 극중 현실과 교감을 음악적으로표현하였다. 근원음악과 극적 배경음악의 전환 및 결합은 영화의 내러티브의 중요한 구조적 전개에 영향을 주었고, 인물들의 과거, 현재, 미래간의 관계를 보여주었으며, 영화의 시공간적 편집의 흐름을 연결하는 역할을 수행하였다. 이처럼 이 영화에 쓰인 음악은 영화의 스토리텔링에 많은 영향을 주었으며 영화의 다양한 요소들과의 조화에 중요한 의미를 보여준것이다.“원스”와 같은 음악영화에서의 음악은 일반적인 극영화의 배경음악보다 더 중요한 역할을 하고있는 것으로 분석되었다. 이 영화의 음악은 극중 인물들의 대사를 대신하는 것뿐만 아니라 영화의 내러티브와 형식적 구조의 형성에 매우 중요한 역할을하였다. 본 연구는 앞으로 또 다른 음악영화의 제작과 분석에 많은 도움이 될 것으로 전망한다.
This study analytically considered the meaning formed by the role of source music, dramatic background music, and song lyrics used in the musical film "Once". The source music of this film musically expressed the reality and the sympathy of the characters in the film. The transformation and combination of the source music and the dramatic background music influenced the important structural development of the narrative of the film and showed the relationship between the past, present, and future of the characters and played a role in connecting the temporal and spatial editing flow of the film. As such, the music used in the film has had a great impact on the storytelling of the film and it is important to harmonize with various elements of the film. It is analyzed that the music in a musical film such as "Once" plays a more important role than the background music of a general feature film. The music of this film played an important role not only in the substitution of the characters in the story but also in the formation of the narrative and formal structure of the film. This study is expected to contribute to the production and analysis of another musical film in the future.
