이 연구는 ‘인공지능의 해석학’(A Hermeneutics of Artificial Intelligence)이라는 제목으로 인공지능, 빅데이터 등으로 대변되는 4차산업혁명시대를 맞이하여 사회적-시대적 변화에 부응하는 철학의 태도와 과제를 설정하려는 목표를 가진다. 지금까지 많은 현대철학이 과학기술비판을 통해 생활세계(Lebenswelt)를 복원하려는 시도를 수행하여왔다. 그러나 ‘과학기술의 발전이 정말 인류에게 위협이 될 수 있는가’ 하는 물음은 ‘과학기술의 문제점을 극복한 이상적인 생활세계가 가능할것인가’ 하는 물음처럼 답하기 어렵다. 따라서 우리는 지금의 과학기술의 성과를 공정하게 평가하고 그 안에서 적절한 철학적 과제를 설정하는 것이 합리적이라 여겨진다. 이러한 맥락에서 이 연구는 전통적인 ‘설명-이해 도식’(Erklären-Verstehen Schema)을 재구성하고, 헬름홀츠(Helmholtz), 괴테(Goethe)와 딜타이(Dilthey)의 자연관과 학문관을 앞으로 철학이 과학기술의 성과에 적극 대응하면서 자신의 고유한 사유를전개할 수 있는 모범으로 제시하고자 한다. 여기서 강조되는 것은 실질적 내용보다는 철학의 태도(Einstellung) 변화의 필요성이다. 아울러 이연구는 인공지능과 연관된 인간중심주의(Anthropocentrism) 논쟁을 중심으로 철학적 논의의 적절성 여부를 검토하고자 한다. 이를 통해 인문학의 위기 속에서 철학의 발전이 모색될 수 있는 새로운 계기들이 성찰되기를 기대한다.
The purpose of the present study is under the title of “A Hermeneutics of Artificial Intelligence(AI)” to examine the philosophical attitude and task that are required for the fourth industrial revolution era especially characterized by artificial intelligence (AI) and big data etc. The numerous modern philosophers have attempted to redefine the Life-world (Lebenswelt) on the basis of criticism about technology. However, it is as difficult to answer accurately “Will technological advances threaten human beings?” as it is to answer accurately “Will human beings overcome risks of technology, and realize the ideal world?” Therefore, it might be more reasonable for modern philosophers to evaluate unbiasedly pros and cons of technological advances, and then find philosophical tasks within the unbiased assessment results. The current study, for that reason, reconstitutes the classical “Explaining-Understanding Schema (Erklären-Verstehen Schema)”, and presents the several significant perspectives on nature and learning of Helmholtz, Goethe and Dilthey as models to develop our own thought on technological advances, with particular emphasis on the necessity of radical change in philosophical attitude rather than the actual knowledge about philosophical attitude itself. Furthermore, this study addresses the philosophical relevance of an emerging controversy surrounding the relationship between AI and anthropocentrism. The models and findings displayed in this study could provide new discernment to blossom philosophy again although humanities is having hard time.
