The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the grit, clinical practice stress and professionalism in nursing students. The participants of this study were 202 nursing students, who were juniors and seniors at two universities and had clinical practice experience. Data collection was carried out from March to June, 2018. The collected data were analyzed by using the IBM SPSS Statistics 22.0 program, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and logistic regression. Among the variables, correlation was found to exist between grit and professionalism (r=0.262, p<0.001) and between clinical practice stress and professionalism (r=-0.225, p=0.001). No correlation was observed between grit and clinical practice stress. Professionalism score by grit group showed statistically significant difference (t=-3.388, p=0.001). The results of logistic regression showed the correlation between grit group and professionalism group (OR (odds ratio) 2.634, p=0.001, 95% CI (confidence interval): 1.453-4.649). To promote the improvement of professionalism in nursing students, it would be necessary to develop various programs applying the grit.
