Often as adults we lose something of the freshness, excitement, wonder and joy of faith. As children, we may recall pleasant memories of our relationship with God, an intimacy that as adults we miss and long for. Children can become teachers as adults interact with them in worship, in play, and in exploration of the natural world. Children can teach adults about trust of and dependence on those “wiser” than them, about joy in simple things, about wonder and awe in God’s creation. Children can teach adults about sanctification, the process of learning to grow more and more, deeper and deeper, into one’s relationship with God. By observing, listening to, sitting quietly with, or engaging in imaginative play with a child, adults just might discover something of God and something of who they are in relation to God.
