사회 양극화 현상과 삶의 불안정성은 우리가 직면한 매우 중차대한 문제이다. ‘금수저’ 논란과 함께 최근에 유행한 ‘헬조선’ ‘노답 사회’ ‘노오력’ ‘~충(蟲)’ 등의 신조어는 고용․소득․소비․분배․정의를 둘러싼 사회정치적 논의와 재고가 절실함을 말해준다. 신자유주의 세계화 시대에 우리 모두는 ‘노동 세계의 난민’ 처지에 놓여 있다. 생존에 대한 공포는 삶을 압도한다. 특히 노동시장의 급속한 유연화는 새로운 계층인 ‘프레카리아트’를 양산하고 갈수록 그 층은 두터워질 전망이다. 이 논문은 손원평의 소설 『서른의 반격』(2017)을 중심으로 프레카리아트의 실존과 그들의 주체 구성 문제를 다루고 있다. 먼저 불안정한 비계급적 존재인 프레카리아트의 실존 양상을 가이 스탠딩의 프레카리아트 논의에 근거하여 살펴보았다. 아울러 이들의 주체화 과정을 푸코의 ‘파레시아’ 개념에 의거하여 분석하였다. 이를 통해 프레카리아트에 관한 문학적 성찰이 부조리한 사회를 향한 분노의 서사이면서 동시에 비판적 사유와 실천을 모색하는 서사임을 밝히고 있다.
The bipolarization of the society and instability of life are crucial issues that we encounter. The controversy of ‘gold spoon’ and neologisms such as ‘Hell Choseon’, ‘No dap society (society with no solutions)’, ‘No-o-ryeok (much efforts)’, and ‘~ choong (a word meaning an insect)’ that have widely spread recently show that sociopolitical discussions and improvements on employment, income, consumption, distribution, and justice are desperately in need. In this era of neo-liberal globalization, we are all in the status of ‘refugees in the labor market’. The fear of survival overpowers life, and especially the rapid flexibility of labor market will produce the precariat, a new class which is expected to expand more. This paper addresses the existence of precariat and the issue of its subject constitution focusing on Son Won-pyeong’s novel “Counterattack of Thirty”(2017). It first examined the existence of precariat, an instable hierarchical being, based on Guy Standing’s discussion of precariat, and examined how the precariat form revolutionary subjects according to Foucault’s concept of ‘parrhesia’. Through this, this study reveals that the literary review of precariat is a narrative of rage towards an irrational society and a narrative that seeks critical thinking and practice at the same time.
