이 연구의 목적은 인신매매를 통해 북한을 이탈하여, 중국을 거쳐 한국으로 들어온 북한이탈여성의 경험의 본질을 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 인신매매를 통해 탈북한 8명의 북한이탈여성을 연구참여자로 하여 심층 면담을 실시하였고, 수집한 자료를 현상학적 연구 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 북한이탈여성의 인신매매를 통한 탈북 경험을 15개의 하위 개념과 4개의 상위 개념으로 구조화하였다. 4개의 상위 개념은 ‘빈곤에서 벗어나는 길’, ‘출구 없는 세계’, ‘탈출구의 발견’, ‘다시 시작하는 여성으로서의 삶’이며, 인신매매를 통한 탈북 경험의 본질적 의미를 ‘빈곤 탈출의열쇠로 선택하여 예상치 못한 착취를 경험하였으나, 적극적인 시도를 통해 자립한 여성으로서 삶을새롭게 시작하는 과정’으로 제시하였다. 연구 결과를 통해 인신매매를 경험한 북한이탈여성을 위한 정책적 제언을 제안하였다. 이들이한국에서 한 명의 주체적 여성으로서 성공적으로 자립하기 위해서는 인신매매를 경험한 북한이탈여성을 대상으로 첫째, 맞춤형 심리 상담과 치료의 지원, 둘째, 평등한 성의식과 주체적인 인권 의식을확립할 수 있는 체계적인 교육의 제공, 셋째, 북한이탈여성의 정착에 초점을 둔 가족 지원 프로그램의 수립 등을 제공하고, 이와 더불어 북한이탈여성에 대한 편견 감소를 위해 체계적인 시민 교육을마련하는 등 사회적 변화가 함께 뒷받침되어야 할 것이다.
This article explores the essence of the experiences of North Korean women defectors leaving North Korea through trafficking. Eight North Korean women defectors who had experienced trafficking were interviewed. The interview data were analyzed using phenomenological analysis. 4 concepts and 15 subconcepts were deduced from this article. Four concepts were ‘the way to escape from poverty’, ‘the world without exit’, ‘the discovery of escapeway’, ‘life as a resuming woman’. The essential meaning of the experience of leaving North Korea through trafficking was suggested as ‘the process of starting a new life as a independent woman getting out of poverty and unexpected exploitation through aggressive attempts’. To correct distorted sex consciousness and human rights awareness through the extreme experience of trafficking, we can suggest that the policies should provide customized psychological counseling and treatment to overcome their injuries ; conduct appropriate education program to establish gender equality and consciousness of human rights ; provide supporting program with family members to get understanding and support of new families in Korea ; conduct civic education program for all citizens to reduce prejudice against North Korean women defectors.
