현재 한국의 역사교육 현장에서 요구되는 가치중립성과 국가 교육과정에 근거한 역사 교과서는 기독교 역사교사가 역사 수업을 하는데 큰 어려움이 되고 있다. 따라서 성경에 기초한 기독교 세계관의 입장에서 한국의 역사 교육과정과 역사 교과서를 검토하여 기독교 세계관을 가진 역사 교사가 어떻게 수업을 전개해야 하는지 그 방안을 모색하는 일은 중요하다. 역사교과서는 기독교 세계관에 대한 올바른 시각과 정보를 역사교과서 서술을 통해 학생들에게 제시해야 한다. 그렇다고 해서 기독교에 편향적인 역사 서술을 해야 한다는 것은 아니다. 지금처럼 왜 그러한 일이 일어났는지에 대한 설명이 없이 기독교와 관련된 사건을 사실 위주나 결과 위주로만 역사교과서에 기술한다면 학생들이 오개념을 가질 수 있다. 기독교 관련 사건을 제대로 설명하고 편향성 시비를 비켜나가기 위해서 기독교 관련 서술을 할 때 그 사건이 왜 일어날 수밖에 없었는지를 이해할 수 있을 정도로 기독교 세계관을 간략하게 서술하는 것이 필요하다. 기독교와 관련된 특수한 역사 서술 못지않게 기독교에 대한 일반적인 설명도 제시되어야 한다. 종교적 편향성 논란보다도 기독교 자체의 중요성과 그 의미를 서술할 수 있도록 그 방향이 정해져야 한다. 종교편향성 논란을 비켜가기 위해 기독교 세계관에 대해 정확한 서술을 회피하는 것은 오히려 반기독교 정서를 자극할 수 있고, 사회 갈등을 유발할 수 있다. 따라서 무엇보다도 체계적인 기독교 세계관을 가진 역사전문가들이 역사교과서 집필 과정에 적극적으로 참여하여 간결하지만 정확하게 관련 내용을 서술해야 한다.
Value neutrality that is demanded in the field of history education in Korea and history textbooks grounded on the national curriculum work currently as barriers when Christian history teachers give history lectures in their class. Therefore, it is important to examine the history curriculum and history textbooks in Korea from the Christian viewpoint of the world grounded on the Bible in order to find out ways for teachers having a Christian viewpoint of the world to give lectures properly with those history textbook. History textbooks should provide students with a righteous view of the Christian world and information with statements included in them. But it does not mean they should describe history biasedly in the Christian viewpoint. If like current textbooks, they describe Christian events only based on facts or outcomes with no explanation about why it has happened, students may end up having misconceptions. In order to explain Christian events properly and get rid of any controversies associated with biasness, when describing any Christian events, it is necessary to write a Christian view of the world briefly so that they can understand why such events have happened unavoidably. It is needed to provide historic distinctiveness associated with Christianity as well as explanation about general Christianity at least. A course should be set to describe the importance and meaning of Christianity itself rather than religious biasness. If you avoid accurate descriptions about the Christian view of the world to eliminate controversies related with religious biasness, it may rather result in arousing anti-Christianity sentiments and social conflicts, too. Therefore, above all, experts of history equipped with a systematic Christian view of the world should participate in writing history textbooks actively and describe related contents briefly but accurately.
