부산시 기장 두호 마을은 조선시대 수군만호가 지키는 두모포영이 있었던 해양 군사 요충지로서, 두모포별신굿 또한 기장에서 ‘막장모’․‘굿장모’라고 불리는 제관이 가장 엄숙하게 제의를 올리는 마을로 유명하다. 이 외에도 두호 마을은 조선시대의 해양 군사 요충지답게 부산의 다른 별신굿에서 보기 힘든 ‘길놀이’, ‘매방우굿’, ‘꾸러미 띄우기’, ‘후리’ 등 해신에게 올리는 지역 특유의 전통적인 의례의 형태가 남아있는 편이다. 기장별신굿을 비롯한 부산별신굿은 어촌마을에서 연행되는 마을굿으로 어촌의 생업적 특성상 풍어제라고도 부른다. 즉, 예전의 반농반어의 생계에서 현재는 어업 및 상업이 중시되면서, 부산별신굿에 있어서 점점 선주들과 해녀들의 풍어와 안전을 기원하는 해신을 모시는 제의가 중요시 되고 있다. 이에 어촌마을을 중심으로 연행되는 부산별신굿의 지역적 특성을 파악하기 위해서 해신이나 해신제의 특징을 고찰할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 부산의 바다를 관장하는 해신과 해신에게 올리는 제의적 특징을 고찰하는 것을 목표로 한다. 연구방법으로는 부산별신굿에 있어서 전통적 제의방식이 다소 강하게 남아있는 2018년 두모포별신굿을 연구대상으로, 매방우굿․후리․물국제석굿․용왕굿의 현지조사 내용을 분석하여, 부산의 해신과 해신제의 지역적 특성을 규명하고자 한다. 본 연구는 종교의 세속화로 동해안별신굿의 각 지역적 특성이 사라져가며 동일화되어가고 있는 상황 속에서, 두모포별신굿의 사례연구를 통해 부산 지역의 해신과 제의 방식에 대한 민족지적 자료를 제시하는데 의의가 있을 것이다.
Dumopo Byeolsingut is performed sexennially, and it had performed in front of off the coast of Duho-dong from February 17 to 22 in 2018. Those who prepare and participate in rituals of Dumopo Byeolsingut are called as ‘Makgangmo’ and ‘Gutgangmo’, which signifies the ritual tradition of Busan Byeolsingut. In addition, traditional rituals of Busan such as ‘Gilnoli’, ‘Meibangugut’, ‘setting Guryemi(a ship made by the straw) afloat’, ‘Huri’ and so on are being performed in Dumopo Byeolsingut. Busan Byeolsingut including Gijang Byeolsingut is also called as Pungoeje(ritual for a big catch of fish) because Busan Byeolsingut is generally performed in fishing village. In other words, rituals for safety and heavy catch of fishermen and female divers are important in Busan Byeolsingut of fishing village; as a result, in order to identify regionality of Busan Byeolsingut, rituals for sea gods should be studied. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to identify regionality of sea gods and rituals for sea gods in Busan Byeolsingut, analyzing fieldwork of ‘Meibangugut’, ‘Huri’, MulgukJeseokgut and Yongwanggut in 2018 Dumopo Byeolsingut. This study might be helpful for understanding distinct rituals for sea gods and regionality of Busan Byeolsingut under situation of identification of Dongheian Byeolsingut(Byeolsingut of eastern coast of Korea) and be useful for affording ethnography in Dumopo Byeolsingut.
