Writing education instruction by genre using film

현재 정규 글쓰기 교과목으로는 학술적 글쓰기와 취업을 위한 실용적 글쓰기가 중심이되고 있다. 그러나 성숙된 감성능력이 없다면 학술적 담화공동체 구성원으로서의 지성적글쓰기 역시 기대하기 어렵다 할 것이다. 따라서 타인의 삶에 대한 공감능력, 그리고감수성을 발달시키기 위해서 논리적, 비평적인 글쓰기뿐만 아니라 감성을 다듬을 수 있는 글쓰기 연습이 병행되어야 할 것으로 본다. 이에 본고에서는 <영화와 글쓰기> 교과목운영 사례를 통해 영화감상 후 질문을 바탕으로 한 토의․토론 활동, 그리고 이를 편지, 일기, 시, 묘사 등 다양한 장르의 글쓰기로 연계하는 방안을 찾아보았다. 영화 자체가 보여주는 풍부한 이야기와 사유들, 그리고 그것을 담아내는 구성과 표현방식 등은 학생들로 하여금 작품 이해와 분석능력을 넘어서 인간 삶에 대한 통찰의 눈을기르는 데 도움을 준다. 영화가 주는 이러한 다채로움은 글쓰기 교육방법을 구상하는데뿐만 아니라 장르가 가진 수사적 효과 등을 고려하여 글을 구성하고 표현하는 방식을익히는 데도 기여한다 하겠다. 이는 언어적 상상력을 강화함으로써 자칫 단편적인 글쓰기 기술 습득으로 끝날 수 있는 실용적, 규범적 글쓰기의 한계를 극복하고 언어사용의 총체성을 경험하는 한편, 궁극적으로는 학생들이 ‘자기 언어’를 가지고 삶을 능동적으로기획해 나가는 데 도움을 줄 것이라 기대한다.

Currently, formal writing courses focus on academic writing and practical writing for employment. However, in order to develop empathy and sense of empathy for others' lives, it is necessary to practice not only logical and critical writing, but also develop writing exercises that can refine emotions. Without mature emotional ability, it is difficult to expect intelligent writing as a member of the academic discourse community. In this thesis, I discuss the ways to link the writing of diverse genres such as letters, diaries, poems, and descriptions to discussion and discussion activities. The activities are based on questions following film appreciation through the case studies of <film and writing>. The rich stories and reasons that the film itself reveals, and the composition and methods of expression that it contains, help students to gain insight into human life beyond their ability to understand and analyze their work. The colorfulness of the film will contribute not only to envisioning the way of writing education but also to learn how to organize and express the writing with consideration for the rhetorical effects of the genre. It is hoped that by strengthening the linguistic imagination, it is possible to overcome the limitations of practical and normative writing. with the possibility of frag mentary writing while experiencing the totality of language use, ultimately students will be able to actively plan their lives with their own language.
