본고는 북한이탈주민을 대상으로 남한 대학에서 수학할 때 필수적으로 익혀야할 경제 분야의 학술 전문어휘 가운데 외래어를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 학문 목적 북한이탈주민이 대학 수학 중 가장 어려워하는 영역 중의 하나인 전공 관련 학술 전문어휘 가운데 외래어에 초점을 두고 살펴보았다. 우선은 설문조사를 실시하여 학문 목적 북한이탈주민을 대상으로 전공 분야의 학술 전문어휘 학습 현황을 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리고 경제 분야의 학술 전문어휘 가운데 주요 외래어 목록을 선정하여 선정된 어휘 목록에 대한 북한 대응어와 뜻풀이를 살펴봄으로써 효율적인 어휘 교육에 활용할 수 있는 기초 자료를 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 경제 분야의 학술 전문어휘 가운데 외래어 목록을 구성하고 고빈도 어휘 목록을 선정하여 이에 대응하는 북한 대응어를 살펴보았다. 북한이탈주민의 대학 수학에 필요한 경제 분야 학술 전문어휘 가운데 외래어 목록과 북한 대응어 제공이 대학 수학 능력 향상에 일조하기를 기대한다.
This article is intended to study loanwords used in the academic vocabulary of North Korean defectors who major in economic fields in South Korean universities. This study focuses on the academic loan words which North Korean defectors feel are the most difficult to understand in their fields of study. Through questionnaires, we considered the status of learning loan words that are used for academic purposes by North Korean defectors. This study defines words that are part of academic vocabularies and also constructs vocabulary lists that are relevant to the economic and academic fields in order to determine which words are used most frequently. We provide basic data that can be used for effective vocabulary education by examining both the North Korean vocabulary and the meaning of the words on the selected vocabulary list. The list includes important loan words used in academics, focusing on words used within academics, and particularly within the economic fields. The purpose of this study will help North Korean defectors settle in the Republic of Korea through providing a list of essential academic loan words.
