본 연구는 인지론적 ILOs 접근에 기반한 백워드 설계 중심의 인성교육 단원을 구안 및 적용하여 시사점을 도출하는것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 관련된 문헌을 분석하여 인성 및 인성교육, 인성교육 요소에 대한 개념을 정의하고 인성교육의주요 접근과 본 연구에서의 접근방법 및 인성교육과 백워드 설계와의 관련성에 대해 탐색하였다. 그리고 백워드설계의 단계 및 주요 절차와 단원 개발 접근 방법 그리고 백워드 설계 단계별 인성교육의 방향과 구현방법에 대해살펴보고 이를 토대로 백워드 설계 중심의 초등학교 6학년 수학과 인성교육 단원을 구안 및 적용하였다. 적용 결과, 인지론적 ILOs에 기반한 백워드 설계 중심의 인성교육은 학생들의 흥미를 유발하고 참여도를 높여교과는 물론 관련 인성교육 요소에 대한 이해와 실천의지 함양에 도움이 된다는 시사점을 도출하였다. 하지만 이러한방법을 일선 교사들이 당장 활용하기에는 어려움이 있으므로 백워드 설계에 대한 전문적인 이해와 백워드 설계를우리의 교육 실정에 맞게 재구조화하는 작업이 선행되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 그리고 백워드 설계 중심의 인성교육단원구안과 적용과정에서 교육과정 중심 수업설계로의 인식전환, 적용 초기에 교사의 적극적인 개입 및 점차 교사 역할줄이기, 수행과제 해결과정 중 본질적 질문을 통해 수업 초점 잡기, 협력적인 학급문화를 형성하여 기반 다지기라는유의점을 도출하였다. 인성은 단시간에 길러질 수 있는 성격의 것이 아니라 통합적 접근에 따른 교과교육을 통해지속적으로 꾸준히 길러져야 한다.
The purpose of this study is to devise and apply unit on character education focusing on backward design based on cognitive ILOs approach and to derive implications afterward. To do this, we defined the concepts of character, character education, character education elements through related literature analysis, and explored the main approach of character education and the approach in this study and the relevance of backward design and character education. We also examined the steps and the key procedures of backward design, the approach to development. And we examined the direction and Implementation method of character education at the step of backward design. Based on this, we designed and applied 6th grade character education unit(mathematics) centered on backward design. As a result, the character education by backward design based on the cognitive ILOs approach helps to increase the interest and participation of the students and to enhances the students' understanding and willingness to embrace the practice. However, this method seems to be difficult for general teachers to use immediately. In addition, in the process of designing and applicating the character education unit centered on backward design, it is necessary to change the recognition to the curriculum-based class design, actively intervene and reduce the role of the teacher in the early stage of application, to focus on the essential questions during the performance task solving process, And to establish the foundation of the classroom culture. Character is not something that can be raised in a short period of time, but should be steadily cultivated through subject matter education based on an integrated viewpoint.
