본 연구는 전문대학의 전공심화과정 연구동향을 분석하여 추후 전공심화과정의 연구방향을 탐색하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 1998년부터 2018년 4월까지 20년간 발표된 전공심화과정 관련 국내학술지를 대상으로 연구시기, 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구분야별 빈도와 백분율을 산출하여 분석하였다. 이에 따른 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전공심화과정 관련연구는 1999년부터 나타나기 시작하여 2007년 이후 급증하였으나 2013년부터 다시 감소추세에 있었다. 둘째, 연구주제는 인식과 만족도 조사, 연구대상은 전공심화과정 재학생에 집중된 연구가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있었다. 셋째, 연구방법은 양적연구가 많았으나 2010년을 기점으로 질적연구 방법도 활용되고 있었다. 넷째, 연구분야는 계열차원에서는 사회계열, 학과차원에서는 유아교육과가 가장 많은 연구를 하고 있었으며 2013년 이후 사회계열, 자연계열, 의학계열에서는 연구가 전혀 이루어지지 않고 있었다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 전문대학 전공심화과정 관련 연구 확대, 전공심화과정의 교육과정에 대한 평가연구, 질적연구 및 혼합연구 수행, 단일학과 외 타 학과와 연계한 협력연구 등의 필요성을 제안하였다.
The purpose of this research is to explore the direction of research on advanced courses in college by analyzing the research trends of advanced course in college. To this end, domestic journals published from January 1998 to April 2018 were analyzed. Frequency and percentage were calculated in order of research period, content, object, methodologies and field. Findings reveal the following. First, the studies began to appear in the 1999’s and soared from 2007-2012, but have been declining since 2013. Second, the research subjects were consistently found to be biased toward recognition and satisfaction survey. Third, the research subjects consistently concentrated on students enrolled in majors. Fourth, there were many quantitative research methods, but qualitative research methods have also used been used since 2010. Fifth, the social sciences and the department of early childhood education were the most studied. Since 2013, there has been no research in the social sciences, natural sciences, and medical sciences and pharmacy fields. Based on these findings, we suggested that it is necessary to expand the research related to advanced course in college, to evaluate research of curriculum in advanced course, to conduct qualitative and mixed methods research, and to collaborate with other departments.
