이 연구는 북한의 내부와 외부가 관리되는 방법을 통해 북한의 전쟁에 대한 공포가 어떻게 변용되었는지를 탐색하고, 이러한 변용에서 내부의 균열과 분열적 모습을 포착하고자 했다. 2009년은 북한에게 있어 사회주의 강성국가 건설의 토대를 쌓은 대혁신, 대비약의 역사를 상징하는 용어이다. 그렇기에 총서 《불멸의향도》 『2009년』은 북한의 내밀한 핵에 대한 욕망이 어떻게 진행되어 왔는지는 포착할 수 있는 작품이다. 북한은 방송 매체에서 반어적 표현을 통해 핵무기 개발을 부인해왔다. 이 작품은 강성대국으로 기호화 된 ‘강성대국’의 욕망과 ‘주체철’로 변용되는 핵무기에 대한 욕망을 내적 원칙과 외적 파격이라는 이중적 내러티브를 통해 보여주고 있다. 총서 《불멸의향도》 『2009년』에 나타난 생존의지에 대한 내밀한 고백은 고난의 행군시기와는 결이 다름을 알 수 있다. 작품은 강성대국 건설을 생존담론과 동일시하고 있는데, 생존을 위해 내부와 외부를 관리하는 방법으로 원칙과 파격이라는 방식을 사용하고 있다. 북한 내의 문제는 원칙이 중요하지만 외부의 문제, 국제적인 문제에서는 파격이 정당화되고 있다. 파격을 선택하는 것은 국제사회의 전략적 인내 또는 경제 제재를 통한 고립의 방식이 통하지 않음 보여주려는 의지인 것이다. 이러한 파격을 통해 그는 김일성의 유훈인 보통국가를 넘어 정상국가로 가기 위한 토대를 야금을 통해 마련하고자 한 것으로 보인다. 그리고 이 시기 북한의 내적 원칙은 ‘무조건’이라는 용어임을 알 수 있었다.
This study explored how North Korea's fear of war was transformed through the ways in which the country was controlled both internally and externally. It also aimed to capture the internal cracks and divisive aspects of this transformation. The book ‘2009’ is from the series ‘Guide of Immortality’. The year ‘2009’ symbolizes the history of major innovation and preparations to North Korea, which build a foundation to construct a strong socialist state. Therefore, 2009 of ‘guide of immortality’ series is a work that allows us to capture how the desire of North Korea for confidential nuclear weapons has progressed. By using a dual narrative of internal justice and external exception, it illustrates its desire of a 'strong and prosperous country' and the desire for a nuclear weapon transformed into a 'Juche iron'. The biography of Kim Jong Il is depicted in “2009”. The inner confession of will to survive described in the book is different from the march of suffering. The work identifies the construction of a strong and prosperous country with a survival discourse, and uses an exception and justice method to manage both inside and outside for survival. It seems that he wanted to establish the foundation for a normal nation beyond the ordinary country through metallurgy, which is a teaching left by Kim Il Sung.
