This study classified the types of strategies for visiting historical cultural heritage sites(HCHSs), and examined associations between the types and visitors' characteristics such as demographic and socio-economic characteristics. Of the raw data from the 2016 The Survey of Cultural Enjoyment, this study analyzed respondents' data who reside in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. A series of the Chi-square test and the ANOVA were performed. Findings reveal that there were significant associations between the types of strategies for visiting HCHSs and respondents' demographic and socio-economic characteristics. However, there were no significant differences in respondents' age among the types of strategies for visiting HCHSs. Based on the findings, theoretical and practical implications are discussed to better understand visitors' behavior visiting HCHSs as well as implement competitive regional tourism policies and strategies using HCHSs.
