본 연구는 영유아 교육기관에서 손자녀 양육의 어려움을 호소하는 조부모의 요구도를 담아 조부모 양육 및 교육지원에 도움이 되는 프로그램모형을 개발하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 2015년 2월부터 2017년 3월까지 기존 조부모관련프로그램과 문헌을 고찰하고 조부모 6명의 심층면담을 통해 1차 초안을 작성하였으며 그 후 유아교육 전문가와 조부모의 검토, 조언을 반영하여 2차 초안을 작성하였다. 어린이집에서 2차 초안 프로그램으로 실행을 한 후 조부모들의 평가를 통해 최종 프로그램이 도출되었다. 최종프로그램은 손자녀가 다니는 어린이집에서 8주 동안, 1시간30분씩 진행되었으며 교육형식은 사전토의, 도입, 전개, 평가로 이루어졌다. 교수방법은 강의, 동영상, 실물교육, 토론, 워크샵 등 다양한 방법이 적용되었으며 교육내용으로는 손자녀를 이해할 수 있는 영유아 발달 특징, 건강 및 영양, 안전, 놀이 종류와 방법, 상호작용방법 등이 소개되었다. 이러한 영유아교육기관에서 시행되는 조부모 양육 및 교육지원프로그램을 통해 조부모들이 손자녀 양육과 교육에 있어서 만족감과 성취감을 느끼는 것은 물론 긍정적인 의미를 찾아가기를 기대한다.


The goal of this study is to develop a program model that can aid grandparents who are experiencing difficulty in raising their grandchildren through giving appropriate nurture and educational support based on their satisfaction level. Literature research and previously performed programs were studied and in depth interview of six grandparents were done to examine the practical level of demand. First draft was made based on those studies, and the second draft was revised based on the reviews and suggestions of infant and early childhood education professionals and grandparents. After the second version of the program was implemented at a child care center, the final version of the program was derived through the evaluation of the grandparents. The final program was practiced at the child care center of the grandchildren for eight weeks, 90 minutes per day. The form of the education was composed of pre-discussion, introduction, development, and evaluation. Diverse teaching methods, such as lecture, video, object lesson, discussion, and workshop were applied. To help the grandparents understand their grandchildren better, education on growth characteristics of infant and early childhood children, health and nutrients, safety, different kinds and methods of children’s play, and interaction methods were included in the content of the education. It is expected that through such education, the grandparents will gain satisfaction and sense of achievement, leading to finding positive meaning in nurturing and providing educational support to their grandchildren.
