Cruise tourism is one of the world’s fastest growing tourist activities and cruise industry has high economic effects. As a main player of the rapidly growing Asian cruise market, China has implemented various policies at the government level to promote the cruise industry. China government established cruise test-beds and institutions specialized in cruise industry such as China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association and Shanghai International Cruise Business Institute. Furthermore, China government developed cruise industry plans to promote and improve both hardware and software of China cruise industry. On the other hand, cruise industrial policy in Korea focused on hardware such as developing cruise port terminal, and there is a lack of an integrated national cruise industrial policy including human resource, marketing, financing plan. Therefor Korea government also has to establish and implement comprehensive plans and programs for sustainable development of cruise industry.
