이 연구는 제주라는 특정한 공간에서 전근대부터 현대까지 제주 여성들의 생활문화를 도출할 수 있는 연구물 44편을 분석 대상으로 하여 여성의 생활문화사 형성에 관여한 구비문학, 일생의례, 세시풍속, 가족제도, 의식주 생활, 사회참여, 언어와 사회제도 등을 중심으로 통시적 관점과 공시적 관점에서 논의된 연구 동향을 분석하고, 그에 따른 전망을 제안하였다. 여성 생활문화사의 논의 확장을 위해서 시대와 사회변동 등에 따라 폭넓은 연구가 이루어져야 하고, 연구자 간 연구 영역의 경계를 넘나들 수 있는 학제 간 연구가 가능해야 한다. 또한 여성생활문화사 연구를 통해 지역 정체성과 여성 정체성을 정립하는 계기가 되어야 한다.
This study investigated 44 research results that can derive the life culture of women from pre-modern era to modern times in a specific area called Jeju. It analyzed the research trends discussed in diachronic and synchronic viewpoints focusing on the oral literature, lifetime rituals, seasonal customs, family institution, food/clothing/shelter life, social participation, language, and social system that contributed to the history of life culture of women. It also presented the prospect of the results. Expansion of the discussion on the life history of women requires a wide range of research according to the time and social change and interdisciplinary research that can cross the boundaries of research areas between researchers. Moreover, the study of women's life and cultural history must be the opportunity to establish the regional identity and female identity.
