이 글은 槐堂 李曼勝의 삶과 시세계에 대한 내면적 스케치를 목표로 한다. 특히 그의 詩賦에 보이는 정감세계를 집중적으로 조망하고자 한다. 괴당의 전기적 삶에 대한 내용은 서문, 행장, 발문, 묘지명, 제문, 만사 등을 통하여 짐작이 가능하다. 한 인물의 삶을 들여다보기 위하여 우선적으로 점검하기 위해 이들은 당연히 존중될 자료들이다. 이 글도 역시 그로부터 예비적 검토를 준비했다. 그러나 실제 논문은 타자의 시선에 의하여 정리된 삶 보다는, 괴당의 목소리를 직접 응시하는 전략을 취하고자 했다. 은미하지만 그의 숨결을 직접 느껴보고자 했기 때문이다. 괴당은 유학적 소양을 갖추었지만 학문적 성과를 남기진 않았다. 국가적 난리를 만나 몸소 의병을 소집하고 자신이 실천에 나섰으며, 귀향하여 뜻을 같이 하는 벗들과 같이 정신적 으로 성장하고 우국의 마음을 다져나갔다. 『괴당집』은 모두 2권 1책으로, 제1권에 賦 1편, 詩 11題 13수를 남기고 있다. 그의 정감세계를 살피기 위해 이들을 집중적으로 살펴보았다. 괴당은 自修의 성찰을 통해 지식인으로서의 자의식을 다져나갔다. 역사의 아픔과 상처를 되새기면서 진지하게 어떻게 살 것인가를 고민했다. 그의 「德高毁來賦」는 이를 잘 보여준다. 또한 집단적으로 창작된 「鼎巖聯句」는 특정한 장소를 통해 지식인으로서의 의식을 같이 연마하고 있음을 확인할 수 있다. 괴당은 아울러 계절을 노래하는 가운데 시대의 상처를 내면화하고 우국의 마음을 담아내고 있었다. 괴당이 보여준 정감세계는 의병의 고장으로 자처하는 宜寧의 인물에 값하는 것으로 평가된다. 그의 산문을 비롯해 타자의 시선에 대한 논의는 후고로 미뤄둔다.
This thesis sets a goal of inner sketch about the life and poetic world of Goedang(槐堂) Lee Man-seung(李曼勝). Especially this thesis tried to intensively take view of the feeling world in his Chinese poetry. Goedang's life story could be guessed by preface, doings, epilogue(跋文), memorial inscription, funeral oration(祭文), threnody(輓詞). These materials should be naturally respected for preferentially check for observing one's life. This thesis also prepared preliminary review through these materials. However, real thesis adopted a strategy which gaze at Goedang's voice rather than refer to arranged life by other's sight. Because this paper tried to directly feel his breath. Although Goedang have some confucian knowledge, he didn't left academic performance. He called army raised in the cause of justice because of national confucion, acted up to his principles, and aroused his patrotic fevor. 『槐堂集』 is a book in two volumes. The first volume included 1 piece of Bu(賦) and 13 pieces of poetry(詩) 11 figure legend(題). This paper focused them for studying his feeling world. Goedang worked for self-consciousness as intellectual through reflection. Ruminating of historic pain and wound, He earnestly concerned about how to live. His 「德高毁來賦」 mirrored his idea. Also, 「鼎巖聯句」 which collectively written also mirrored his conscious as intellectual through specific site. Goedang expressed patriotic sentiment, internalized historic pain while singing sense of the season. The feeling world showed by Goedang is highly regarded as Uiryeong's figure. (Uiryeong is called home of 'army raised in the cause of justice') I will put off other assessment and sight of his achievement including his prose.
