이 연구에서는 우리나라 경찰공무원을 대상으로 회복탄력성 정도를 측정하였다. 이 연구는 최초로 경찰조직에 적합한 회복탄력성을 측정하는 지표개발 가능성 탐색에 대한 시론적 연구라는 점에서 의미가 크다 할 것이다. 선행연구의 검토를 통해서 회복탄력성 개념의 발전과정과 하위 요소들을 정리하고, 경찰조직에 적합한 회복탄력성 지표 타당화를 시도하였으며 인구사회학적 특성별 경찰공무원의 회복탄력성이 어느 정도의 차이가 있는지를 분석하였다. 김주환(2011)이 개발한 한국형 회복탄력성 지수(KRQ-53)(3개 요인과 9개 하위변수) 53문항에 대해 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석을 진행하였다. 탐색적 요인분석 결과 회복탄력성의 하위 3개요인 ‘자기조절능력’, ‘대인관계능력’, ‘긍정성’과, 9개 하위변수 ‘감정조절력’, ‘원인분석력’, ‘충동통제력’, ‘자아확장력’, ‘소통능력’, ‘공감능력’, ‘감사하기’, ‘생활만족도’, ‘낙관성’으로 나타났다(총 53개 문항 중 18 문항을 제거). 해당 요인과 문항으로 확인적 요인분석을 실시한 결과 다시 3개 문항이 제거 되었고, CFI= .946, NFI= .918, RMSEA= .066으로 적합도 지수가 비교적 양호한 것으로 나타나서 연구 최종 모형으로 선택하였다. 이 연구의 조사대상 경찰공무원들의 인구사회학적 특성에 따른 회복탄력성은 ‘재직기간이 5-10년이고/ 계급은 경장과 경사 집단/ 연령은 40대/ 근무부서는 수사·형사 등의 사복부서’가 통계적으로 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 ‘재직기간 5년 미만/ 계급은 순경/ 연령은 20대’ 인 조사대상 경찰공무원의 회복탄력성이 가장 높고, 위의 낮은 시기를 거쳐 ‘재직기간 10-20년/ 계급은 경위/ 연령은 50대 이상’이 되면 다시 높아져서 ‘U’자 형 곡선을 그리는 것으로 나타났다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 이 연구가 주는 의미와 시사점을 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is validation of police officer resilience Scales & measurement. For the purpose, this study, in chapter 2, reviewed theoretical backgrounds and literatures on the Resilience Theory. In chapter 3, the research model and methods were provided. Then, chapter 4 was analysis part. The results of exploratory factor analysis with KRQ-53(Kim, 2011), the three factor structure of the 35 items and nine sub-variables have been identified. and conducted a confirmatory factor analysis, Police officers’ Resilience(Self-Regulation Skills(Regulation skills, Cause Analysis skills, Impulse control skills), Interpersonal Skills(Expansion skills, Communication skills, Empathy skills), Positive Capacity(Appreciate, Life satisfaction, Self-optimism)) and 32 items were confirmed. The result showed that the level of resilience were higher than the average. And the differences was statistically significant according to gender, rank of organization, deployed department of the work, and the period of work duration. This implied the necessities of measurement, management and education of police officer resilience per differences in individual and work environmental characteristics.
