The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of meridian scraping and ginger extract intake onbody heat, inflammatory factor and muscle damage during 8 weeks training in high school male elite judo players. Experimental groups were ginger intake group(A, n=7), ginger intake with guasha group(B, n=7), guasha group(C,n=7), control group(D, n=7). Judo training program was performed 3 times a day, 6 days a week for 8 weeks andmeridian scraping therapy 5 times a week for 8 weeks. A and B groups were instructed to take an 80 ml ginger extracteveryday for 8 weeks after breakfast and dinner. The finding of this study were as follows; the right knee temperaturein A group had significantly(p=0.036) decreased, and C group had significantly(p=0.006) increased. The right kneetemperature in C group was significantly(p=0.000) higher than that in A, B and D groups. The left knee temperaturein C group had significantly(p=0.036) increased, and D group had significantly(p=0.007) decreased. The left knee temperaturein C group was significantly(p=0.001) higher than that in A, B and D groups. The left wrist temperature inC group had significantly(p=0.036) increased. The both shoulders temperature in A group had significantly(p=0.036,0.012) decreased. And B group was significantly(p=0.039) decreased in wrist temperature difference. C-reactive proteinin D group had significantly(p=0.007) increased. The creatine kinase(p=0.009) and lactate dehydrogenase(p=0.000) inD group had significantly increased. The lactate dehydrogenase in D group was significantly(p=0.000) higher than thatin A, B and C groups. In conclusion, meridian scraping and ginger extract seem to have a positive influence on reduceinflammation, recovery of muscle damage and temperature difference. Therefore, ginger extract and meridian scrapingtherapy are considered to be a positive method of fatigue recovery.
