본고는 오키나와 지역의 아름다운 경관을 정순칙이 노래한 「중산동원팔경시」로 확인하고, 이를 관광자원화 할 필요성을 제기하고자 집필되었다. 자연경관은 장소가 같고 주변 상황이 크게 변하지 않았다면 옛사람이 느끼는 정취나 지금 사람이 느끼는 정취가 별반 다르지 않을 것이다. 하지만 보다 더 의미 있는 것은 옛사람이 느꼈던 아름다운 장소에서 세월과 함께 변한 경관 혹은 시간이 흘러도 변하지 않는 모습을 바라보며 역사를 반추하는 것은 그 자체로 의미가 있다고 본다. 이는 고전을 통한 현대의 이해일 뿐만 아니라, 역사의 이해이며, 지역에 대한 이해와 애정이다. 다만 본 논문은 정순칙이 노래한 「중산동원팔경시」가 제대로 평가된 적이 없으므로 그 가치를 제시하여 오키나와 관광지에 활용될 수 있다는 의미만을 제기하고자 하였으며 그 구체적인 활용방안은 다음 과제로 삼고자 하였다. 그러나 한 가지 방안을 제시하면, 「중산동원팔경시」와 관련한 장소에 팻말 등의 형식에 해당 시를 적어 관광객이 경관과 함께 음미해보도록 하는 것이다.
The purpose of this study was to review the beautiful scenery of Okinawa or Ryukyu as depicted in Jeong Sun Chik(程順則)’s 「Jungsan Dongwon Palgyeongsi(中山東苑八景詩)」, suggesting that the scenery should be utilized as a tourist resource. If a certain scenery, especially that of nature, belongs to a same region and still has little changed environments around, its taste that people feel is not so different between the old and the present times. However, the more meaningful thing is that we sort of reflect on history as we view scenic things, whether changed or not over time, at a same region where the person of the old times felt beauty. Such reflection is like an understanding of the present times by means of a classic literature, understanding of history and the appreciation and affection of region. 「Jungsan Dongwon Palgyeongsi」 is a good depiction of beauty that the nature and artifacts of Ryukyu, which was an island country surrounded by the sea in the ancient times, had. In this sense, 「Jungsan Dongwon Palgyeongsi」 and its depicted scenic remains deserve a new attention.
本稿は、沖縄の美しい景観を程順則が歌う中山東苑八景詩の中で吟味し、これらの景観に対して、観光資源化する必要性を提起するため執筆した。自然景観は同じ場所で、周囲の状況が大きく変わらない限り、昔の人が感じる情趣と今の人が感じる情趣とは違いはない。しかし、より意味のあることは昔の人が感じた美しい場所で、歳月と共に変わった風景や時間の経過による変化のない様子を眺めながら歴史を反芻することはそれ自体の意味がある。これは古典を通じての現代の理解だけでなく、歴史の理解であり、地域への理解と愛情である。程順則が歌う中山東苑八景詩の小標題は景観名で構成されるものと景物+景観のことが混在している。これは瀟湘八景の標題を超える独自の方法で、内容でも瀟湘八景の情趣に準拠するのではなく、琉球独自の情趣を取ろうとする意味である。これは自分の住んでいる地域への関心や理解及び自尊心の結果だと思われる。中山東苑八景詩は海に囲まれた島国、琉球の美しい自然の美と造形物が加味された人工的な自然の美しさをよく描写している。そのような意味では中山東苑八景詩と遺跡址等の観光資源の価値評価は新たに照明する必要がある。
